another stooge of gandhi family.he was in race of chief ministership of assam and lost out to tarun gogoi. he is an MP and his only plus point for the games in that he had successfully conducted the last national games in guwahati and from his young days he has been associated with rural sports development!he is associated with various sports organisations and trusted lt.of kalmadi also.
"Sir,India won a gold medal ! He beat our champion shooter" Tom Li came running from the dining hall to inform me..
I was abit pleasantly shocked..it was only 2/3 days since the Olympics started in Beijing.I asked "What is his name?"
He said "you come, now they will give the medal" and he pulled me out of office and ran thru the stairs to the hall where a big tv was telecasting Olympics live...
I saw a guy with spectacles standing like a gentle man,his composed face,in the back ground our national anthem,a medal of gold put around his neck..oh,I see..its Abhinav Bindra...
My heart started swelling in pride...that one gold, infront of which a chinese top shooter lost and sat and broke down weeping made us Indians in China really proud..that one medal was equal to 100 medals for us..
Working with chinese colleagues, bossing over 200-300 employees, talking great great things about India, all these things were at stake in 2008!
A single gold medal saved our pride...Abhinav,we Indians in China will always remain grateful to you...deservingly you are India's flag bearer in Commonwealth games...

Wow, so good. It feels great and even great when JANA GANA MANA is played and all are standing.
