To Bango Tango and all other people doubting Nadal's integrity
by Ravi Iyer on Nov 27, 2010 05:46 PM

Nadal has received the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship award this year (awarded on Tue of this week). He has been voted by his fellow tennis players. That puts an end to all the discussions on whether Rafa is a true sportsman. If he was a dope, he would have been caught by now. Moreover fellow tennis players will never vote for him if there were doubts lingering in their minds. So accept the new champion and move on...

I do not think even Anurag Rathore has any doubt about Nadal being the best player in the world today. Roger Federer at least knows this.
I have watched his matches in the London Masters. In all his matches, he has looked fractionally better and fractionally luckier than his opponents, Yesterday for example, Soderling could easily have finished the backhand volley at 5-6 in the tie-break, but he let it go, and it landed in.
Waching him play and master his opponents, I could not help feeling that Nadal would simply crush him, if this is the best he can produce. I say this because of the length Roger Federer has been playing. Most of his strokes have been landing around the service line, which Nadal simply loves. Against Nadal, Federer is going to struggle for points.

to be honest Nadal is the best player at the moment. But him being best at this point of time is coinciding with fedex being way past his prime.

in my opinion Fedex at 23-24 is still miles ahead of Nadal

Yes. Nadal is best player in the world today. Ranking also shows it. But whenever discussion will come to about all time best and better player between Nadal and Federer, You have to wait long for my acceptance. Nadal is miles behind from Federer and have to show consistency for some years more to equal Federer.

I am waiting for J Del Potro's come back. he is the next man to watch after Federer. I hope he will not be next Safin.

Eufemiano Fuentes, the doctor at the centre of cycling's blood-doping scandal in Spain, told Spanish radio that tennis, football and athletics were also involved.

Fuentes, a former doctor to Spanish cycling teams Kelme and Once, also said not all the names from the judicial investigation, dubbed Operation Puerto, had been revealed.

His statements contradict a declaration by Spanish sports minister Jaime Lissaversky on Tuesday "that no footballer or tennis player" were implicated in police files from the ongoing investigation.

A French newspaper at the weekend, citing unidentifed "Spanish sources", reported that French Open champion Rafael Nadal and five Real Madrid footballers were linked to the scam.

This what makes the difference between men and boys

It is wonderful to watch these mighty champions fighting with each other. Every day is a new challenge. This shows how we have to improve to come close to these chaps. they got evey shot in the armoury enormous atheletisim, accuracy, mental strength, technicaaly correctness more over respect for each others game. My goodness India needs to go for long to achieve the results. We wish Somdev and Sanam to focus on the fitness and play at that level before their shell life. Please understand the shell life of any tennis player is about 5 years.

because DAVIS CUP AND OLYMPICS are more important to tennis players than grand slams .

Get a life please!

Nadal is without doubt the best player as of now. But if he is the best ever is another question
