Ridiculous!!
by mang on Nov 26, 2010 11:01 AM  | Hide replies

There are atleast 10 other who participate in this Asia and won gold medals for India, but it is ridiculous that media including rediff don't publish any articles/interviews featuring them, but still go behind this looser!! In a way it might be good because media attention may spoil those other dedicated sportspersons who are giving out to everything to achieve something for the country.

You people are double standards; when it comes to Sunita Williams or Kalpana Chawla or any other who are not even INdian but just of Indian origin and who dont feel proud of that still you want them to be considered as INdian and here is a lady who is fully Indian and made India proud at many levels but just out of love married someone who happened to be from enemy country and you dont want to see her.

Well done Sania
by Jaya S on Nov 26, 2010 08:55 AM

You did India proud by bagging 2 medals.
Keep up the good work. There will always be critics who write you off but you continue to prove them wrong. Nobody expected you to win a singles medal and now that you have, I am sure you can reach greater heights in the WTA tour and Grand slams.

rediff is full of anti national reporter. they can even write whorific story of their own mother to sell news. motherland is ofcourse nothing in compared to them getting their precious trps. rediff has a bunch of traitors in the name of reporters!

•      It was a special day for India at Asiad when we saw our athletes trying to put their best to achieve the superlative performance. Our hearts were swelling up with pride when one by one they picked up three golds for India.
•      In my yesterday’s summary ,I expected 3-4 golds today, the actual result was close to it.

•      It was heartening to see GanapathiPallackalAbrahamJoseph and AkkunjiAshwiniChidananda running for their lives to fetch two golds in men’s and women’s 400m hurdles.TintuLuka although led most part of the race, finally had to settle for a bronze in 800 m as she ran out of steam towards the end.

•      Vikash Krishan brought home a boxing gold after 12 years gap in Asiad.Dinesh Kumar settled for silver.

•      Indian hockey team got a bronze so did Mausam Khatri break the deadlock in wrestling.

•      3 gold,1 silver,3 bronze, not a bad day at all !We moved upto 8th position in the medal chart with 53 medals(10 gold,14 silver,29 bronze) and equaled with the medal haul of Doha Asiad.

•      At the beginning of Asiad, I expected India to win about 16-20 gold and around 60-65 medals.Let us see where it ends!

Medal expectations on penultimate day 26th November,2010

1.      Kumari Sahana in women’s high jump
2.      Kashinath and Rajender in javelin
3.      Renjith and Amarjit in triple jump
4.      Kavita and Preeja in 5000m
5.       4 x 100 women’s and men’s relay team
6.      4 x 400 men’s and women’s relay team
7.      Om Prakash and Sourabh in shotput
8.      Santhosh,Vijender and Manpreet will aspire for boxing golds
9.      Oinam Jamesboy Singh in 200m men’s canoe
10.      Last rounds best efforts by our chess players
11.      Men and women Kabaddi golds
12.      Vikash,Shekhar,Sunil and Sumitra will try in Karate
13.      Sepaktakraw players will also gain some more experience
14.      Suman,Geeta and Gurusharan will battle in wrestling

•      Tomorrow should be the most eventful day for India in Asian Games,Guangzhou,2010.Anything between 4-8 gold medals can come to India’s kitty. The possibility of landing in top 5 position is huge and we hope our athletes will put their best efforts to achieve it.
And,we will be backing and cheering them to the hilt with our sincere wishes…good night !
