I am sorry for Federer and his fans, for I happen to be one of them.
He is also going to lose his no. 1 ranking this monday, should Nadal win the title.
Now, can Federer do a Mohammad Ali, and win back the no. 1 title a third time? What do you say Professor Vasudevan and Anurag Rathore?

NOT ONLY CLAY
by arunkumar on Jun 01, 2010 09:55 PM  | Hide replies

NADAL DOMINANANCE IS NOT ONLY IN CLAY. I ACCEPT EALIER STAGES NADAL DOMINATED ONLY IN CLAY,EVEN IN HIS DEBUTE IN FRENCH OPEN ITSELF HE BEAT FEDERER. AND HE STARTED IMPROVING IN HARD AND GRASS COURT ALSO AND HE STARTED DOMINATING FEDERER IN BOTH BY BEATING HIM IN WIMBLEDON AND AUSSIE OPEN FINALS.IN ALL SURFACES HE PROVED. WHAT ABOUT FED EXPRESS.AS OF NOW HE COULD NOT DOMINATE IN CLAY OVER NADAL.UNFORTUNATELY HE GOT INJURED. BUT NADAL BEAT FEDERER IN GRASS, HARD AND CLAY SURFACES AND THAT TOO IN GREAT SLAM FINALS. NADAL IS RECOVERINGGGGGGGGGG

As someone said the winner is either federer or the one who beats him. This is the situation the world tennis is facing know. Some beats nadal, federer beats him n wins the cup. So not letting federer into the semis itself is the biggest challenge for all the players apart from Nadal. Sure ferder cant match the powers of nadaL at clay. But all it needs is small drift in concentration. This is where nadal Stands, he operates where other players loose hope, if Roddick had that never say die spirit of Nadal, we would have been the king. Only nadal knows to use the resources to beat federer. Its a sort of inferiorrity complex that captures the players when they play against ferder.

All soldering needs to do is to convience himself its just another and its just another oppenent and trust in his abilities. Hes got the man.

What is most interesting is, that Soderling has nowhere said he was confident of beating Federer.he has said is that Federer was beatable, and he had the capacity to beat him. And yet, the link to this column reads 'Soderling confident of beating Federer'.
The kind if things they would do just to meke people read!

Hello Aishwarya: The Professor is back. Yes, Federer is beatable. But this is a Grandslam, best of five sets... so let us see. That is what most of the past greats say .... grandslam is different, best of five sets, 7 hard fought matches and so many variables. This year French is quite different with the rain, cold and what not. Let us wait and see. If Soderling beats Federer, let us hope he goes all the way and wins it. He is in good nick, there is no doubt about it!

am a rafa fan.rafa has himself said that if anyone says that he is better than FED then the person knows nothin about tennis.how humble of him .it is his attitude at such an young age that makes him stand apart..remember fed was very rugged in behaviour during his early days..

Exactly mate...Here people are arguing each other who is better...At the same time these two greats know each other very well and respect each other...If you are a true tennis fan you can respect both of them...You can love one player but for that you don't need to hate the other one...Federer has acheived many feets already and I hope the Roger-Rafa rivalry to go on for few more years...Federer is a proven great...I expect Rafa to match his acheivments after 4-5 years if not surpass them...

roger will prevail in 4 or 5 sets... soderling will be taken off guard by federer's lethal backhand shots.

you are funny! i am visualizing poor federer, after reading your post, is running around the court and trying to hit all the shots backhand, even the ones to his right. He is thoroughly convinced only his backhand is lethal and the forehand shots are not even wirth hitting.... LOL!!! No offence buddy.

his backhand is more lethal than forehand. roger has many weapons such as sliced shots in lob, drop shots. just wait for today's result...
