Such a good match and not one quip on it by Rediff bloggers...just goes to show that there are hardly any tennis fans here (and those who are there, with their limited knowledge, expect Somdev to win the French)!

Gasquet is an unseeded player and he was just riding his luck for quite sometime against murray. Andy is a much better player and thats what happens in grandslams, its tougher to beat a better player.

Gasquet may be unseeded but that has nothing to do with his Tennis-playing abilities..he was off-court for almost a year and that's why the drop in rankings ! And puerly on artistic terms, he was far better than Murray yesterday..who was actually lucky he managed to take a set and see off a tiring Gasquet (who had just come back from winning the tourney in Nice)..

Agreed he is a very talented player. His backhand shots were brilliant, just he couldn't pull it off in the third set.

Unseeded? Anyone wud be unseeded if he wasn't playing at all the last twelve months. Riding his luck? Did u even see the macth? As far as shot making talent is concerned, Gasquet is far superior to Murray, who is probably the best counter-puncher in tennis. Gasquet's backhand is the most lethal after Kuerten and Safin.

Roger's backhand is his weakness...he play it perfectly on grass, which requres the chips and the dinks more but chk him when he has to contend with Nadal's overspin and has to take the ball from above his shoulders...he struggles! Thats also bcos he switched from a double hander to a single hander and as such, is not as natural a single hander as say Gasquet or Wawrinka are.
