This player is in his mid 20s and what has he done, other than reach the finals of a low level atp tour in chennai. He has not even been in the top 50. While tiny countries in europe has atleast 5 there. Yet we treat him like a federer or nadal, and track all his results, even if he fails in 2nd round. Sania is a lot better and she has been upto 27 in the world, and she also won an ATP title. Please rediff stop giving free publicity

Buddy, mens tennis is far more competitive than womens. He is the only collegiate player to ever have made it to three consecutive NCAA Singles Championships, he has got huge potential and is hard working unlike lazy Sania who could have broken into top 10 if she was more committed and hard working. So stop talking B.S and appreciate the effort. Good luck Som!!

dude....this guy is far more humble and down to earth than sania. And of what ever little I have read abt this guy; he is serious with his game. Federer had the most horrendous start to his career with chain of losses, untill he went and changed his coach. If this gyy has good 5-7 yrs in this sport; I am sure u will have some good things to say for him. He is not the prodigy, but then not all prodigies make it big. hardwork pays off aswell.

Hmm what has he done? He holds the record for reaching most number of NCAA(college) finals(Mc Enroe etc played this tournament). He won it twice(once against Isner who is in the top 30). He is good. So buzz off.

Sandeep, seems you are the biggest looser in the world, understand our infrastructure is not there for tennis and considering that he has done awesome, age is not a bar in sports if you keep yourself sport, its just so unfortunate that due to people like your mentality india is lacking behind, i hope you will learn your lesson soon and will make some sense out of your pathetic and disgusting thinking, seems you only like looking at sexy girls playing and have no interest at all in watching tennis and thats why you are supporting mirza who btw never made more than 3rd round. Women competition is far less compared to that of men. Its a real shame having to read opinions from people like you who are nothing but a big looser. Hope you will change someday

we should not underrate anyone. whatever his international standard, he is the best in his age in the country and needs our encouragement, instead of criticism.

Samerr K let me guess. People doint treat you well at home or at work, isn't it? you dont have many friends, right? Now you know why. God bless you.
He has appeared on tennis scene just when everything was looking as lost. His success is mainly due to being in US.The Tennis federation like all other sporting bodies too have politicians as bosses who uses them to promote their business interests.
