IOC and MOS

The letter conveys the right sentiments. The IOC does not and should not be allowed to interfere in the internal affairs of any member country. The sad fact is that most Indian sport bodies are run by long serving administrators as their own fiefdoms. And they welcome no challenge to their authority from anyone. The Kalmadis and the Rungtas as well as the Modis are a few of these autocratic authorities. Of course there are the Pawars and Praful Patels too. Perhaps it is the Indian psyche: Most Indian people in such posts have authoritarian streaks in them. That is why we see our athletes and sportsmen being treated like dirt by selectors and such other office bearers. It is indeed high time that these super superannuated office bearers be shown the door. Indian sports will at least have something new to look forward to.
