None of the media excepting a few in India gave any coverage to this intellectual game where an Indian is fighting for the championship. I don't know why. People were kept in the dark about 7 games by almost all the media in India. They only report a last page one column bit when Anand lose or win. However, there were seven games drawn. Nobody alerted people in India when Anand is going to play in all the 12 games. Now the typical Indian way is underway-come up with news once he got the big title. Compare the T20 alerts and euphoria in the print and visual media.

You are right. News papers printed the updates only in a very small column. That too no news in today's paper about Anand playing finals. It is very very evident that there is too much of an importance to cricket. Will it change?
It is a great job again by Vishy. He has once again proved to every one that India can produce World Champions in games other than cricket too! If Sachin deserves a Bharat Ratna, why not Anand?... who has won World Champion titles many a times! Great man Vishy... Congrats.
34... Qe8 Anand makes this move! What is going on right now in the minds of these two players? What are they thinking? What words is Topalov saying to himself? after such a long and ineteresting match to finish with such an absurd blunder. What a great game for Anand who refused of making a draw by repetition and continued to play. And his decision made such an impact on Topalov that 10 moves later Anand is winning. And tell me now that chess is not a game about psychology!!

Bravo Anand!! We are proud of you!! It is a tremendous achievement considering the problems you faced initially when trying to reach there in time & also facing Team-Topalov's boorish behavior in their homeground.
