As Indians we are supposed to support him not ridicule him. What people give in charity is his own no one has a claim on that. He earns, spents and makes the country proud. The issues stops there. Irrespective of the region he hails from he was instrumental in making indian arc in the graph of chess. He is playing a crucial match today instead of wishing him good what is this senseless spats. These discussion boards are meant to bring in the intellectual perspective with good faith to all but it is ridiculous that we go on bashing people for no reason. Furthermore, chess does not earns in millions, cricket does, tennis does. Chess is both his hobby and profession and he earns his bread and bran with that.
Anand is hoping for a tie-break matches. But topa is a very agressive and risk taking person with white. Sure a lots of actions on the board to be seen on the last game with standard clocks.
I wish Anand loses his Title because he has never given to the poor. Whatever he earns in billions are only for him. He never gave for charity or for the poor. He should learn a lesson.

Why should Anand give it to poor. Its his own hard efforts. He would have sacrificed so many sleepless nights and practices to stay at this level. He is a professional and not govt sponsored sportsman to eat in to gov funds. What does the policiticans who are awareded certain sum of funds to their constituency doing. Anand is not a 3rd grade cine actor to pull of a cheap publicity stunt. Most actors do that to get some sympathy and sentiment to view their movies and make sure their movie doesnt flop.

How much do u give of the earning and if u r not earning how much ur family members who are earning give to the poor? I am sure u might not be giving a single penny to the poorer except for one or two rupees on the traffic singals. first peep in urself and then comment on others. Anand does lot of charity which is not mentioned in public and if u r poor and expect something from him go and ask him i am sure he will not send u empty handed but hand u some hundred two hundred rupees.

Not too many people have the heart to be charitable. More so the Brahmins, and Anand is one of them.

Do U know how many zeros are there in 'Billions'? Apparently not. You also don't know Anand is not a film star or for that matter criccketer either. He does not earn that much. Refrain fromm silly comments when you don't know anything. One more thing ..I have doubt whethet you have ever played chess in your life. If you did you could not have made this comments. Show regards to him..he is the only indian world champion.

Oh, I am sorry you don't even know how much a million is... a million is ten lakhs. I hope you at least know how much a lakh is... a lakh is 100000.

what a logic. How much you had spent for the poor. He is earning becoz of his hard work and no one can claim share in that.

Anand is great. I would dearly like him to win the championship. But don't make unwarranted/unnecessary comments please. It is tasteless

FYI, Anand is a Tamilian and not a Mallu. You are another educated Indian who does not use his education for the right purpose. Every activity is attached to regionalism. Grow up for India's sake!

Anand is a legend in Chess as Sachin is in Cricket. Its great that both of them are Indians. No one is selfish and no one is not selfish :)

Anand is not a legend in chess. He is not as great as Gary Kasparov who retired undefeated as the World Champion. You need to know the meaning of 'legend' before you use it. Anand is not even ranked #1 in the FIDE rankings!
