Playing with White and missing is not so great. He need to draw the next 2 matches while playing with black and one last chance in the 11th game to win a match.
Looks very tough now. Next game is very important.
Age is catching up with Anand. At 40 you cannot expect to play championship chess with someone who is 5 years younger and a bachelor. Game numbers 8 and 9 he should have won easily (if it had been the same Anand a couple of years back) but he lost 8 and drew 9. Anand has done champion stuff many times over already, and it would be aeons before someone else could replicate his achievements. I think he should retire now and devote his time to raise his family. The Chess world requires Anand's progeny. And he should devote his time fully to training Indian children and bring out many more exciting Grandmasters like him. I would earnestly wish and pray he retires on a winning note. We will know in the next few days.

Not just a progeny. We require at least half-a-dozen progenies of Anand -- may be a couple of Judith Polgars and Bobby Fischers and Kasparovs -- in them.

Anand has another 5 years easily. The only thing is, he has to raise his fitness level. This isn't too difficult for the champion!

Have you heard of Viktor Korchnoi who is 77 not out and still playing top level competitive chess. Chess is not a physical game and age is not a factor as long as you enjoy playing

and what is special about being 'bachelor' in playing chess? At least, Anand gets 2 meals a day (Smbhar, Rasam, Idli, Vada...) from his wife.
