We keep saying we have multiple world champions in so called sports like chess,billiards,carrom,shooting etc. But do people actually wit and watch people whose movements are almost static? Can they even be called sports?? Sports is something that tests ur physical endurance, your fitness,stamina,speed and skill. Like cricket, football,basketball,tennis where hours are spent outdoors and a lot of physical exertion is involved. Thats why we worship our cricket heros, who are world champs and no1 in tests. And prefer to watch ManU or Kobe or Nadal play, instead of ferreira or advani or bindra. No disrespect, all of them are nice guys, but you just cant call all these sport

you just dont have brains enough to know that shooting is an olympic sport and billiards is played at asian games level, not like cricket which cannot even make it to the commonwealth games even when it is going to be hosted in india, first know the details before criticising these sportsmen who have excelled after beating the best in the world
Unfortunately his wooden stick is too thin to catch our imagination but long enough to tickle our senses. he should be hailed for his deeds. Indian authorities never think out of the box only baniyas (read BCCI)do. this particular game or any game other than cricket & football needs to be promoted at the grassroot level to have any popularity graph. It is also about the nature of the game. Pankaj should be regarded as one of the best achivers this country has produced.The cricketers should come forward to praise their fellow sports persons not out of sympathy but out of responsibility. Moreover what about the condition of women cricket & crickters in India. This is a complex issue which needs attention.
Vishwanathan Anand, who is currently defending his world Chess championship has been an outstanding sportsperson for the last 22 years. No one knows about him. No 24x7 news channel covers his on going defence of title. Newspapers hardly report anything about the championship. He is nowhere in the radar for being considered as India's best sportsperson. Same is the fate of Bhindra, the Olympics shooting gold medalist. Perhaps you will be joining the said list. You want to know who is considered India's greatest sportsperson? He goes by the name of Sachin Tendulkar. He plays a game called cricket, played seriously by just 9 countries, but dubbed `world' and `global' by our Media. Anyway, all the best Mr.Pankaj Advani. I pity all the sportspersons of all other sporting disciplines! You also should have chosen cricket! You would have made more money and would have been more richer!

You seem to be one of those ipl bashers whoa re in 0.5 percent minority. Bro, IPL has broken all trp records and its among the greatest leagues in the world revenue wise. And it has showed Indian talent to the world. And SAchin is the greatest batsman ever, and he plays a game which requires far more physical skills than chess or snooker. And he has done that for 20 years. You can watch your so called other sports, while we cheer for our heros playing in barbadoes!
That position has been taken forever 20 years ago by a little kid named Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. .. Infact the first 1 to 10 has been taken by him.. You can try for the rest
