Lalit Modi has said that in a few years time, som eof the top cricketers are going to top what the players in IPL earn. Thats great news and finally a sign that our religion has become truly global. The days is not far off when sachin, yuvraj,lee can outshine some of the mentioned footballers. And btw, IPL viewership has reached billions. We shoudl applaud Modi for all this, and the IPL must be one of the best things to have happened to world cricket in a 100 years
Maria Sharapova Earns $23m ( 104 Crores !!!). This Figure( NOT Her Figure) is More Than Sachin 45 Crores, and Dhoni 51 crores put together !! Would any one believe ?? but this is true.

everyone believe. All top sports professionals (Football, Tenis, NBA, boxing,Golf, chess) etc earn 100 times more than what sachin is earning. So sachin earning high money is no issue as he deserve it. Yes politicain dhobi is by fluke & manipulation & hence will not survive in long run.

sam...the figure above is not only salary, but all endorsements, advts, bonus and all other stuff... hence beckham is above most of the others.
Compare this with Dhoni and Tendulkar who make around 45crore per year. Average cricketers make around 5crore a year of even less. The top guns like Dhoni and Tendulkar still lag behind global sportspeople like football players.

Tiger Woods Earns $100m-445 Crores. Cobe Brayant 44m, Roger Federer 38m Sachin & Dhoni with 10m are around-35th in world. Nadal 18m,Maria Sharapove 23m and so on. With IPL hitting the roof, Next Year Dhoni may be in 20m bracket.

Dhobi doesn't deserve anything. He is just by manipulation. Yes sachin deseve any amount of money & will get it also
Let us get ready for this biggest show (Soccer world cup-2010) on the face of this earth. A game played over 200 countries. We Indians concentrating to much on Cricket which cannot be even considered as an international sport. Mainly because of cricket other games like soccer, hockey, Tennis....are lagging behind in India.

What is wrong? When we are No.1 in Test Cricket what is wrong in Indians like Cricket more than others? Foot ball is liked only in a few urban places whereas crciket is played in all corners of India especially more in rural places,

There is nothing wrong in being number one. My point is that other games are neglected due to Cricket. India had golden era in soccer in 50's, now it ranks ~ 135. Need of the hour is promotion and development of other games as well in a country with more than billion people.We,Govt., industrialists,celebrities, media etc needs to come forward. Example- Instead of IPL it would had been better if soccer / hockey clubs would have been developed. If India needs to qualify for soccer world cup 20 year down the line, than the biggies (specially industrialists, celebraties...) can come forward in forming soccer clubs catching 4-6 year kids, taking reponsibility for their career if not clicked.This could be one way to pack the society. If India is to become superpower than India has to excel in other fields as well,and we have to start thinking and believing in it.

Just to add-even Pele and Maradona were not that good when they were of his age. What is required is synchronisation between Messi, Tevez, Veron and Jonas. They are good in their clubs but as a national team they need to go extra mile. Let's hope for the best.
