We now know our strengths and know how to work on the weakness to mitigate. Next year we shall win the cup. Practice hard boys. Impossible is nothing. lol.

if this state of affairs continue, I would not be surprise if South Africa (against whom Australia pumped 12 goals) scores 6 GOALS against India. The defence is totally absent and the strickers cannot score even from close range.. shamefull..

true.... check the first goal which Spain did... our goalkey left so much space that atleast a bicycle rider would have gone passed by.. stupid play from all end.. they wanted 1 crore to play the hockey matches.. stupid peoples .. did they come to play hockey for money or for national pride.. playing for National pride was totally absent in them.. they couldnt knew where the ball was, kept on running around their own head to find the ball which was beneath them.. the ball kept bouncing everytime they took a pass from other player... over all it was a shameful act of sport display of our NATIONAL GAME by our players.

there was no advanced facility when Dhyanchand played hockey, when we won the world cup back in 1975. Its all about determination and skills rather than facilities as a priority issue.

By seeing the money and style and power in cricket, now all games people mad on moneyand power not concentrate the game and team building. Inthe same time the Hokey federation is not managing the team properly. The corrution counter has enter corruption in all things. Untill and unless true love for that conuntry not come by heart all efforts are invain

Sehwag did not bother to come and witness any match, though medallists Rathore and Bindra did, as promised, to bring up hockey! Shows the mentality of these "Godfigures and temporary heroes!"

we will become a great team
by Puneet Kamboj on Mar 05, 2010 11:46 AM  | Hide replies

I have watched fully all three games of India and I have noticed one thing. Against Pakistan we played very well, against Australia & pain we didn’t play as bad as score line shows. What i feels that this Indian team is quite good and if they get the proper support & training they will do very good. What they are missing is just final finishing. They have missed so much opportunity of scoring goals in both the matches which they lost. Against Spain we missed 4 penalty corners & 3-4 very good field goal chances. Have we converted 50% of that we had won the match. On the other hand Australia & Spain converted almost 80% of their chances into goal. This cannot be achieved in a day or year. This can be achieved by a good long scientific, technical, physiological & physical training. Are our players getting that?
Today everybody is praising our cricket team but have they reached here within a day? 2-3 years back they were in the second half of ranking table. They won 1983 world cup but what was there performance in 1980s & 1990s. They were shocked out in 2007 world cup. Along with Australia, India today has a best cricket infrastructure in the world. We have maximum number of day-night stadiums. We have a great coaching facility available right from school level for cricket. Have there is same scenario for hockey? No. How many Astros turf stadium & coaching centre’s we have? So if we want to do well in hockey we should need a long programme starting from school level. If our t
