Watched the match live. T.V. doesn't show but reality is that we were not able to play at their pace. More strength in the legs needed and players need to practice running..

"more strength in the legs needed and players need to practice running.." hahaha too bad tv doesnt show, and you know sh!t u need sm brain boosters ...why do you even watch sports if you don't even get basics? you culdn't talk about strategy, midfield control , because you haven't played any sports...way to go with random people advising professionals sports men about their need to practice running...ridiculous

Indian won against Pakistan because both teams play same style of hockey.
But Except for India and Pak, all other teams including Korea play long passes to reach D and somehow earn a goal or a penalty corner. The other fact is that theie Govts spend excellent money to prepare their teams.
In India players are harassed, demoralized and their salaries are not paid for months.
Indian Players collecting money from Local NRI's during Winter Olympic games in Vancouver saying the uniforms given to them by Indian olympic committee are of poor quality and wore NRI- Donated uniforms during opening ceremony. They also say that money collected will be used for the upliftment of winter sports in India. This news was published throughout the world by media present in Vancouver. What a shame. But nobody cares for national pride neither Suresh Kalmadi and Party nor the players!

Now u see one part of the problem. Problem is not the palyers. At least that is not the no. 1 prob.
Indian hockey believes only certain players be it religion or geographical area can play hockey (look at most of north Indians in the team). This is outdated thinking.

if you know better then why don't you spell out some player names? your strawman logic won't fool anybody besides, hallapa, sreejish, pillai, bharath, adrian, mahadik , khandker aren't exactly from north india....yours is outdated facts and thinking.... its true these guys don't get half the support from the federations they deserve...if you don't believe this you have no idea how professional sports runs and needs soe high ability support staffto back them up

So that is why punjab was not declared a member in Hockey Federation until last month if you read the reports. That happened only after media gave it the required attention.

When your team has not done well for last 30 years, it is time to make dramatic changes. I don't think that best players from India make national team due to certain biases towards north Indians

Players dont matter in the present scenario. Look at all the factors. Who is playing or really intrested in this. Everybody just want the team to win. How does a country make a really successful teams? Not by focusing when a tournament starts. Find out the real probs first.

Hockey India insulted and humiliated Rick Charlsworth when he was coach for a short time in India.
charlsword was very keen to coach Indian team, but his insult led him to return to Australia.

But they are not top. Brazil, Argentina are the only two non-European exceptions. Most good players are whites.
Yes, blacks are good athletes but they belong to the U.S. not Africa
Re: Why pay millions to a foreign coach?

The coach is very good. We need him for next 4 years and you will see the difference.

Yes. And even in that our cricketers crash out in first round by being beaten by Bangladesh and Srilanka.
