Dear pepepop - I agree 100% with you - it is a tad ironic that the Germans questioned Catholicism, leading to the birth of The Reformation - I myself am a rational atheist - I too don't believe in psychic powers: which is why I'm so disappointed I've been mislabelled as such - as my post below says, it's just that I'm proving more accurate than ESPN, BBC and FIFA combined - sigh, people like to ridicule what they don't understand - thanks for your post

teh team which doesnt care about pre match rubbishes like this octopus, which focus only on the game and not anything else is going to win..these kind of pre match tricks originates only from germany..they are the ones who always study the video of each and every player of the opposition and not focus on the game...only team without talent can do these kind of gimmicks..hence, diego's team are going to give them teh worst ever thrashing to teh germans..

You're absolutely right - thank you - we Germans do spend our time studying the video of each and every player of the opposition - indeed, all this time spent watching these videos: that's why my predictions are so far 100% correct, and sadly, too, it's why I spend too much time in my bedroom alone and don't have a girlfriend. Thanks for your post! The sooner people realise I'm not psychic, but just an ordinary octopus aficionado of the game of the rainbow nation, the better! Take care.

Aaaaaabsolutely, Prakash. Germany's going to have to score though, to win, and make sure Argentina doesn't. If you don't take your chances, then you don't have a chance. On the other hand, if Germany does take it's chances, it just might come out on top. That's just the way it is.

So true, some tough matches ahead and the teams that won't score will have a tough time progressing I think. It'll be interesting to see how the teams will attempt to make chances in their respective games and the ones that won't take their chances will really have few chances of going through.

Token Chick, could you please wear that dress that really brings out your posture and shows part of your leg? It helps me formulate my analysis in a manner that is more understandable to our audience. Thanks in advance

Wow, of all the amazing things I have seen/read in my life this one definitely tops it all! This animal is amazing, how can you dispute this? It's almost scientifically impossible to doubt the accuracy of his predictions. I mean, one prediction could be lucky, but ALL of them????

Well thanks Paul, I was just wondering, do you also predict political events? Really curious to see who will be the next leader of North Korea? Will it be his son or some hawkish general? Thanks in advance

Hi Justanumber, well, our friend Paul, may not have been spending as much time watching politics as football but I've been watching it from the sidelines, and I can tell you, it's not going to be easy for the North Korean establishment - Kim Jong-Il could stick with the choice of his son, or he could change his mind and select a general, or he could just die without having done either - this is to say, correct me if I'm wrong, but there could be a win, a loss, or a draw. What we can definitely say is that the North Korean people will still be people in North Korea. And that means there are huge unknowns ahead which can only be known with time.

Justanumber, sorry to sound unkind, but as soon as people hear I'm psychic they want to ask me about everything: when they'll get married, whether they'll get the promotion they've been waiting for, should they do that operation - I mean, I don't want to sound rude, but frankly, I really don't care about world politics, especially not about nuclear deterrence and containment in Asia - having said that, for my two cents, I'd definitely go with Kim Jong-Un - though there wasn't much choice among the 3 brothers, to be honest - but for politics, you should really ask my cousin, Gary the Octopus - he's the real brain of the family and likes to read all that politics rubbish, subscribes to The Economist etc. Take care, Justanumber. btw, I'm getting a message: don't get that tattoo - you'll regret it later

Gary, I wasn't even going to degrade myself with a response, but the world should know: you're just jealous. Ever since Betty the Blue Ring you had a crush on in 5th grade instead had a crush on me, you've been trying to bring me down. I thought the tentacle enhancement would help, but I think you've become even more tentacular and competitive. You think the worlds' problems can be solved by boring, yes, I said it, boring! academics and lawyers and politicians like yourself? You're just jealous that Merkel and Mandela are both consulting me, your cousin who didn't graduate from high school - imagine! And Gary, if you don't think the game from the rainbow nation has the power to heal and yes, I'm going to say it, save the world, then ask Mandela or Drogba about sport and peace. Gary: we are the world, we are the futue, we are the path to make a brighter day - don't those words mean anything to you? Paris Hilton, Sarkozy, Merkel,Alec Baldwin, Kim Jong-Il - the whole world's watching. Anyway, what are you talking about, referendum in South Sudan - the problem is the referees in South Africa, Gary, Africa (for all your "worldly" knowledge, and yes, they do need a referendum, as you called it. Anyhow, I'm sorry everyone else had to be a witness to this. And yes, I'll be there on Sunday for your mum's roast. Tell her thanks.

I must apologize for my cousin Paul, he has always been the black sheep/octopus of the family. But he is right about politics, that's my domain. I don't care about football, but when it comes to my favorite topic, North Korea, i can tell you that Kim will not cede power anytime soon. It's all a ploy to distract us from issues such as the upcoming referendum for independence in South Sudan, the Goldstone report to be discussed soon in the General Assembly and of course, the flawed reception capabilities of the new Iphone. So while Paul let's himself be used as a clown by reaching for food in two boxes covered with flags (seriously Paul, you embarrass me and the entire family), I am trying to raise awareness on, say, UN resolution 1593 on Darfur. No easy task though when you live under water and the entire world is focused on the world cup and the girl presenting it on ESPN. But yeah, keep it up Paul, keep reaching for the food with that one tentacle, people love it!

i am amazed at the superstition of Rediff. making an octopas a celebrity... booooooo... it stinks.

this is a german born octopas which likes german food. naturlly it will go for german food. what's the big deal. i care a hang if germany wins or Argentina loses. but making a mockery of the intelligence of a reader is very very disgusting. rediff sucks man.

for the record, I was born in England and am vegetarian - therefore, no, I do not like german food - to be honest, I find it patronising that I've been labelled a psychic, when I'm just better at reading games than ESPN and BBC commentators.
