Yesterdays German team reminded me of Dutch-1994. then Brazil was all favorite and they won the cup too. but Netherlands gave them run for their life in quarters - it was exactly like Germany of yesterday, totally inexperienced young team.
It is a must see match for soccer fans Brazil-vs-Netherlands quarter 1994 WC. It is that match with the famous lullaby act by Romario-Bebetto-Dunga. BTW same Dunga is now Brazil's coach.

Only diffeence is that Dutch went down 3-2 to Brazil in 1994 quarters, Germany won :)
England = India France = Pakistan Spain = South Africa Argentina = Australia of today Brazil = Australia of 90s Germany = Australia of today Portugal = England of Ashes 2005 Holland = Sri Lanka Italy = New Zealand Uruguay = Less than England more than New Zealand
The gr8 English Striker Gary Linekar said, "Football is a game between 2 teams, for 90 minutes, among 22 players and in the end ....... Germany wins". Amen!
Even if england got that goal still they sucks against top teams like germans. They lacked especially in defense set up. The germans are ruthless and fiercest in terms of their ball possession and swift passing. ENGLAND GOT NO ANSWER FOR THAT HENCE THEY TRULY DESERVED TO BE KNOCKED OUT.
Many people here say that because of the 2 goals scored by Germany Engalnd didnt' go for counter attack and hence lost their way. There defence were very poor with too many open spaces. I agree one of their goal was ruled out by the refree which was indeed unlucky. However England were no match to germany's pacy and accurate passing. Had Germany not missed out on some other opportunities the score would have read 7 -1. Germans are known to play very attacking football and known to make remarkable comebacks. I didn't see that in the england team. Remember in the 1986 WC final between Argentina and Germany Argentina were 2 - 0 in the second half and in the last 15 minutes or so West Germany scored 2 goals but later on Argentina scored the winning goal and finally they won 3 - 2. You have to attacking football in eh knowck out stages and should not play for a dull draw and then wait for the penalty shoot out. England drew 2 of there 3 matches in the initial league stages and they never looked like winning the world cup. Same is the case with Italy. England looked like an ageing team but with lots of experience. Germany has arrived to the party with an inexperienced side but still could surprise many experienced sides and cannot be taken lightly. They have a tough match with Argentina coming up next. Finalyy I would like to say England is an over hyped and over rated team. Just like our Indian cricketers perform well in EPL but falter in WC English players play well in EPL.
All that matters is how you play those 90 mins.England team looked poor overall.Trying to find and victimize coach/players/Germans on enlish streets is wrong. If English football association looks at this issue they have only two things to do.
1.Work with current coach and players to identify a plan and a new team.
2.work towards next world cup and building a fighting team.
Argentina was in a similar situation when they played in qualifiers. They lost to bolivia 6-1. Look at them now.same players under maridona.
For god sake don;t victimize players/team.Everything is bullshit. concentrate and solve the issue.remove old players and bring fresh legs.
Since the klinsmann era(2004), The germans are playing a good mix of european pace, accuracy and latin american attack, innovation. And along with that they are extremely organised with never say die attitude as they always have been and united as a team. They would never go for individual glory unlike some of the other players often do.
Germany-Argentina is going to be an absorbing match. I would bet for Germany to win on 3rd july. May be we are going to see Germany-Nederlands final?
Do not get carried away by the winning margin of germans. Its the inability of england defence to match the speed of Germna forwards, which cost the match for england. There are no creative field goals in it as usual. They can be beaten by a creative team as in 1986 - 2002 world cups. Germany did nothing special, they are good Runners with minimum skills and full of muscles...

Look at the 2nd goal...around 7-8 passes without interruption which yielded the goal against another top team. It speaks quality in volume. The german midfield with schweinsteiger, ozil, muller is quite innovative to create the openings in opposition defence. And then you have Klose to convert half chances into goal.
The write-up conveys a wrong meaning. If Leow can plan England's defeat, then he can plan any other team's defeat as well. Why shd he stop after defeating England? Let us agree that whatever plans he had conjured, worked and Germany won. The element of chance is worth mentioning.
Nothing else. Let him celebrate the win but let us be realistic about it.
