5 sets 11sets and still going
by ashish g on Jun 24, 2010 01:09 PM  | Hide replies

In all they have played 59 59 = 118 games in fifth set. If we consider one set to be of 10 game (6:4 as set score) then the fifth set includes 118-10games = 108 games extra. The 108 Games if each distributed in sets having score of 6:4 i.e. in all 10 games each, than the total sets played by the duo champs is 108/10 = 10.8 sets or in all 11 extra sets after the fifth set. Thus the total count will be 17 sets. This itself counts to 3 matches. What an amazing skill shown by the two players. They deserve a special reward and shold both be moved to the next round to different groups.

This is why tennis is one of the finest sports in the world
by roopesh balaji on Jun 24, 2010 11:17 AM

Kudos to both John Isner and Nicholas Mahut as their names would never be forgotten in tennis history for producing such a wonderful display of persistence throughout the match. They stole the limelight in a single match making the spectators, commentators look with their mouth wide open in surprise. I expect this match to extend to atleast 10 to 15 more games before either of the two wins.
