Do you mean to say that Zuzu should have played till death? Come on. Football is a team sport. Retiremnt of zizu is not the end of footballing world for France. The world moves on. There is no dearth of talent in French football team. They had likes of Frank Ribery, F Malouda, Karim Benzama, Clichy, Henry et al. The one thing that was missing was the team spirit, which sadly the coach sadly failed to imbibe in.
1998 - winners (with zidane) 2002 - 1st round (zidane played only 3rd match, and he was awarded man of the match) 2006 - runners (with zidane) 2010 - 1st round (without zidane)

Zidane was unique, a talented ball player with a flair for producing stunning goals. Someone like Diego Maradona, he was one of the greats of the game.
