Rafael Nadal is still leading rank 1 by 65 points as of 20 june 2011,but Novak will become world no 1 if he reach wimbledon final no matter what if he lose to rafael nadal.I dont understand please give me detail explanation
My name is Murali Ramaswamy from Mumbai - I am a tennis player -played R.Krishnan in the Nationals in Delhi in 1963 -I played a lot on grass courts in Patna/ Calcutta and also saw players like Sedgman/Pancho Segura/Alex Almedo/Ashley Cooper/Rosewall/Hoad in exhibition matches in Calcutta - my question : I have seen Becker/Edberg serve volley at Wimbledon and the excitment was electric. How is it that the present generation of Federer/Nadal/Djokovitch/Murray, prefer to stay back & rally only from the baseline which at most times is monotonous - ( the number of rallies in a point carries on & on similar to playing on clay in Rolland Garros). Is this because the grass court game has been slowed down with slower balls ? Or are the players trying to conserve their energy in a 5 setter ?Because if you notice, but for the occasional drop shot, there is not much of variation in the game of top players at Wimbledon. What is exciting to a spectator is to see a good serve/volley champ like Sampras playing the best service returner like Agassi - the skill of a passing shot is thrilling to watch which is somehow not happening due to these guys slugging it out from the baseline ? infact I still remember watching the Wimbledon Semifinal in 1960 between Rod Laver & Ramanathan Krishnan - it was sheer artistry - serve/volley against touch & the delicate passing shot - this is not seen nowadays ? Sir do you not think it's a disrespect to a great champion like rafael nadal to schedule his match at court 1 ,when a guy like andy murray who has'nt won a majour yet to schedule his match at the centre court just because he is local boy at teh SW19
CHENNAI SHOULD CONTINUE PRODUCING GOOD PLAYERS. THIS CITY GIVEN VIJAY AMRITRAJ,PRAKASH AMRITRAJ,RAMESH KRISHNAN,RAMANATHAN KRISHNAN AND MAHESH BHUPATHI FOR OUR COUNTRY.
Ramnath Krishnan, Amritrajs, Ramesh Krishnan, Paes, Srinath, Bhupathi had/have a great fan following. Sad that there is no news about Ramesh Krishnan. I still remember that Ramesh Krishnan and Paes were a great force in Davis Cup. One can see the passion for country in many of the matches played by Paes and Ramesh Krishnan in Davis Cup.
