India with 100 crore people cannot make 11 professionals out of them to reach the World Cup.
Countries like Ivory coast, Honduras, Slovakia etc. which have population of a few lakhs have managed it!
Indian politicians are least bothered and are too busy gulping sports funds for personal use. Heads of federations for football, badminton etc. in India continue at their post for 10-20 yrs doing nothing but making money. Indian public and media needs to take this up seriously!

Y do we always blame the politicians ? Even some of the players (be it any sports item)dont deserve to be in the national teams. It depends on as to which part of India he belongs to, under which association he is and so on.
Dont ever any types of quota system prevail in the selections of any sports event. Select only with proper merits.

Why are we even bothered whether Indian plays football or not? No one says that USA cannot produce a world class cricket or hockey team for that matter. Football is not for Indians. Choose some game that suits us and try to win some medals at the next olympics.

I fullty agree with naresh. Indians can never play and win serious sports. Indian men are not fit genetically to be part of serious physical acivity. Pot bellied indians can always play cricket

The comparision is so dubious and wierd: Its like comparing the Rain Forest to a Garden, India with China, Sri Lanka with Germany etc........Its devoid of any meaning....games are not played for avenging hostility.....its fine one can understand the India-PaK fighting it out in a cricket match....footbal is the game of the world....cricket is a game for a handful/ few countries. Its a game of total fitness and Athleticism. I am a great fan of cricket but one cannot compare a two nation Rivalry to the potentiality of a different game which is game of endurance.

Cricket is a game for lazy people, at one point of time sometime only two players (batman and bowler) are active & other player are standing doing nothing. Whereas other games like Hockey, Football etc players are active all the time......Cricket is a game for lazy people …who likes to stand and watch …I do not think Cricket is a game at all…or if it is a game then it is not team game ..

cricket was only for elite people's game in india still recently, only 1983 world cup victory brought others in to the game, still it is governed by high caste people in here, that's is the reason other sports are not flourishing here,more over it is not the game of masses , there are more than 200 countries in this planet earth, how many play this game ? one can simply count it, we need not compare a game like foot ball which is the most popular game and to the other games , evry game has its own charm .
