compared to them the non-contenders USA played a much better game and should have won but for the referee's biased decision..

I hope England loses tonight to Algeria. Only then the arrogant Brits will learn a lesson. I want these developing countries to show their power and kick these so called ''developed countries'' out of the tournament ASAP.

Nothing to do with developed and developing countries. Its who performs the best as a team in the 90 minutes, plus some inspired brilliance of talented stars. That explains the upsets in the game.

All major countries relying on imported sportspersons!
by sandeep kumar on Jun 18, 2010 07:50 PM  | Hide replies

Half of germanys team is from poland, turkey, spanish etc, and France team is full of north africans. Dont forget England cricket team won by having 5 south africans in their team. Atleast we must be proud that team India is playing with natural born players, and not relying on other countries.Inspite of that,we are no1 and no2 in test and odis. And dont forget, we have the worlds best cricket league IPL.Sometimes so called developed countries need to learn from us

if you are pointing towards cacau & podolsky, they are born & brought up in germany so therefore are to be considered as locals only. And in the era of globalisation, in the developed economies, these things are bound to happen.

Cacau was born and brought up in Brazil and his family still lives there and he cant speak good German too, he is playing in Germany just for money and opportunity which he would't get in Brazil..

Was the german over-confident today? The way they played very unusual of them. Klose will certainly be missed against Ghana

I guess, they lacked the co-ordination that was seen in their bout match against Australia. Also özil is better player than Podolski according to even German folks. I don't know why Podolski was chosen to hit the penalty kick, instead of him.

Happy that germans lost!
by sandeep kumar on Jun 18, 2010 07:25 PM  | Hide replies

Just because they beat a 10 man aussies who were unlucky with red card, everybody called them favorites. Is there a single star in this team?I have never heard of ozil, caco, and their midfield till now. And they are the pioneers of defensive football. Compare the english and german teams and you see clearly whos superior.I am an England supporter and am sure rooney, lampard and co gonna take them far.Germany has neither style nor flar, so hope they lose to ghana as well. Well done Serbia and cmmmonn England!!!!

you never heard of them because bundesliga is not as publicised as epl or spanish league. But the likes of schweinsteiger, klose, muller, lahm(probably the best in the world in his position) are very good players. The 1st half marching order of klose caused the rhythm to get evaporated and the second half penalty miss nailed them down today. But off 80 years of football history, we have learnt that never to under-estimate a german team. Look back in recent & far history, you would know that they are the most organised & consistent team in the world. And since klinsman era, they have started playing attacking football as well.

I agree exactly...Australia are the bangaldesh of soccer. Then India beat bangla in asia cup, does that mean theya re the best team? Germany is boring, overrated, and has no stars to speak of. I hope brazil is the champs, since Kaka looks cute :)

This is funny. Brazil is hoped to be champ as certain Nisha finds Kaka cute.
@Atanu, very well said. But Germany today were lack-luster through the referring was over-enthusiastic. Can't remember a game where 4 cards were already given out within 20 minutes.
