Already waiting for EPL to begin!

There was so much of hype about the greatest show on earth and all. And i stayed late nights, but then i should have slept. The matches have been dull, with hardly any goals, and no well contesetd matches till now. The goals have mainly been set piece, tap ins and goalkeeper errors. The pubs showing football in blore had many watching the first two days, but it has been deserted after that, thankls to defence oriented teams. I am better off watching ManU and Barca play. This certainly dosent look like the 'worlds most watched event'. And added to that, is the sound of horns throughout. Just check the highlights on youtube of wc1998 and 2002 to see the quality of goals and the creativity even in the group stages

it will be but natural that most team plays defesively, because it is world cup, one miss could spell disaster (like what happened to english goalkeeper) but as the tournament progresses you can see more fighting games, Brazil, Portugal, Spain has yet to play. so expect more thrils..

Entertaining match
by sreedhar s on Jun 15, 2010 12:49 PM  | Hide replies

I don't know which match the author watched. The one that I watched last night b/w Italy & Paraguay was entertaining to the point of being breathless. Both teams played attacking Football with little negative / defensive game. I felt Italy attacked with purpose and were always there to receive the ball. Sorry, I have to disagree with the entire article.

A match in which there was no creativity, players falling down, and goals from set pieces. You found this interesting? I suggest watch 5 overs of the IPL..esp my team RCB. You will know the real meaning of action and excitement. And crowd cheering loudly without any so called vuvuzeals
