World shd ban SA fr any of future world cups. Current world cup is a nuicence. You just cant hear the commentry while watching the match. Vuvuzu is a stupid thng organisers have allowed 2 b played in stadium. Neighter players nor viewers r satisfied by tht sound.

Its their culture and we have to accept it. They believe by using Vuvuzu all opponents of SA will blown away. Sure sound is anoying but have you ever gone to a stadium in India when cricket is played..
does someone still remember the phenomenom named van jose chilavert the golie of paraguay...his style was terrific...though being a goalie he used to take the corner kicks...simply mindboggling... a goalie with a forward attitude..

With that attitude Parguay went out of worldcup where he was involving in all free kicks which should be taken by better players. Now he is a politician..

I agree with most of the opinion in this forum about defensive display so far in this world but then guys remember, most of the big teams need time to settle down with their fit available players.Germany looked the best team but then, have they peaked already? This is a long tournament. We will have many thrills and spills.Have pateience. The big guns will start their campaign today/tomorrow.Indians who excel in mediocrity ,shortcuts and crookedness should keep their mouths shut and concentrate in doing a committed quality job in whatever they do.The football on display in this worldcup are far higher standard than what an Indian tem will be capable of even in 2110!!

Are you sure of what you are writing? India in fact had qualified for World Cup way back and the only aspect that refrained them was a FIFA ruling that barefoot players are not allowed. It seems that FIFA is more interested in the accesories rather than skill. ANY ANSWER?

That FIFA did not admit barefoot players and that it was the reason for India's non-participation was a myth. Refer to Prem Panicker's blog 'Smoke Signals' referring to an article in Sports Illustrated magazine.for a better understanding. It was simple because our football administration did not understand the importance of WC and failed to send team for WC citing lack of practice and disagreements over team selection. Get your facts right.

All our hockey and football past glories were due to anglo indians. When they started migrating to Australia from 1960s onwards, on went our best days in these sports. As an indian, I am well aware that hard physical work is demeaning to middle class and up Indians whatever their castes may be.Moreover most of the Indian castes do not know what hard physical work really is.These sports require hard work and unless we have a structure to take sports to poor people especially from agricultural and fishery background, we have very little chance of succeeding. We need a change of thinking and unless our current lot of 20s something Indians wake up to this fact and start brushing away the cobwebs built by my generation and earlier, there is no hope in sports for this country. But then the current generation is too busy earning money doing techno coolie work and my outpouring here is anyway wasted!!

Our jat sardars know what hard work is.That is why we are still surviving in hockey.
Like IPL case in India, all these players lost their energy in EPL /spanish/Serie A,where they get money. While they need to play for the country, they are mediocre. What to say, same logic applies to Yusuf Pathan and De Rosse..
Re: Money matters..

Om, Yusuf has not been properly used by Indian captains, whether its Dhoni or Raina. Look at the order he comes to bat, and Dhoni always promotes himself ahead of others. Only Shane Warne could understand Yusuf's enormous potential and used him well to get solid results.

Correctly said. Look what results Yusuf produced when promoted up the order in the last 3 games in Zimbabwe recently. He is another whom we are spoiling.
Italy's trademark start: Crawl somehow to knock out stage. Bore every body including the opponents with defensive game. Snatch a victory against top and stylish teams. Win world cup.

Italy was not defensive. But they were not attacking aggressively. Also the ball Jabulani is acting Funny. Yesterday it was raining also so may be there were many slips.

Forget italy..the whole cup has been boring so far.It was hyped so much even in India, calling it worlds greatets show and stuff. So far the goals have mainly come from set pieces, goalkeeper errors and tap ins. No creativity,no close matches and the sound of horns throughout. I would much rather watch EPL.

I guess there should be a 20-20 in football for you and some fixed ( match fixed) goals.

Bhukari, as a Pakistani u are brought up in the culture of match fixing. So you are entitled to your ludicrous viewpoint. Good luck to many more conspiracy theories of match fixing.

For you there are two options: 1) Watch top 200 goals in You Tube 2) Wait for India to host world cup and watch Indian goal mouth.

I agree with you Sandeep... EPL displays a much better quality of football. Here in the world cup it seems as if all the teams are afraid of making mistakes, I think it will only get worse as we progress to the knockout rounds... and fully expecting yet another world cup final to go to penalty kicks.
