Germans
by Atanu Chatterjee on Jun 14, 2010 02:57 PM

'In the eighth minute, Ozil found Mueller in what looked to be an offside position and his cutback allowed Podolski to smash the ball into the net via Mark Schwarzer's flailing arm.'.......This is incorrect...When Ozil made the pass, muller was onside, but klose was offside. As the ball was not directed towards Klose, the linesman didn't raise the flag. I think the goal was fine. But even if it's not, the way german played yesterday showed a lot of promise. A near perfect football was on display from young and very talented germans. Someone might have rightly said that Ballack's injury is blessing in disguise.

germany scored 2 goals frm off side position.one penalty kick refused 4 aussies whn germany defender handeled the ball.so the victory 4 germany is unjustified and they r going to pay price for this unjust against ghana and serbia

If you are so nice a judge of the game why are you sitting and wathcing the idiot box. Go do the referee job in South Africa. I fill sorry for Ghana & Serbia as they may be the worst losers at the hands of the Germans. Germans have come to win the cup and you are to watch. Sorry pal, it's not Brazil or Argentina this time.

I find it very ironical that there is a lot of talk about the world cup in India, where you can hardly see any scope for the football. Be it any news channel/news paper/magazine every is just blabbering as if India is contesting in this game.
I feel it's just another craze for westernization and nothing else. People would have crammed the names of international soccer heroes, but might not know the names of Indian football squad.
After all it's a status symbol to talk about soccer, and who doesn't do it is simply a non funky Indian.

Hey Saurabh....if u dnt understand d game, please shut ur orifice.....d whole of kerala, goa, bengal and NE states follow football more than cricket...I've been following from WC 98 till now..U dnt knw d number of ppl who stay awake at night to watch their fav club battle in Champions League...

Its true that our knowledge in Indian football is low...If any of our players play well in d competitive European football,we can follow them....There're many players from low ranked countries playin in Europe...

Football is a passion for those who follow it....

What the teams could learn from Germany
by Sowri Rajan on Jun 14, 2010 11:08 AM

Don't make long passes. The ball tends to bounce a bit more and it is difficult for the player to control it. Germany played with a lot of caution and did not spray the passes around.

Not only Germans always deliver, but they are also one of the most consistent performers in the World Cup Football in last 40 years. Germans always entered into Semi-finals or at least quarter- finals. There have been no instances of Germans bowing out in First or Second Round.
