his loyalty is more for spain than for india as he loves to stay there....maybe he would have loved india more had he stayed at banglore / chandigarh / pune rather than being at chennai....its time he forfeits his indian citizenship

You're a retard. Get treatment before you fall down a cliff. On 2nd thoughts, don't get treatment.

Anand left India because our country lacks opportunities and failed to provide Chess a boost, in spite of having so many world class chess players.

It's a shame, really. Look at Russia and the US - they acknowledge all sports persons. On the other hand, we invite Vivek Oberoi to hold the Olypic torch but forget PT Usha. What a shame and such a tragedy.

A person like Anand would be treated like a god in any country he wishes to take citizenship. You should be proud that inspite of the reduced recognition that he's been given in India, he still chooses to play for the Indian flag. Perhaps some day, when you exceed Anand as an achiever, you will be more qualified to speak on this topic. Regards,

But Messi, in all probability would never have heard about Anand (even if he might have heard about Kramnik, Topalev and other European Chess players) !!

All because Indians, as ever, manage to remain inconspicuous everywhere !!

How many of the jokers below making fun of Indian football know or can tell the names of 5 national team players. If they can, they have a right to comment otherwise i would suggest stick to the pigeon hole called cricket

WE have a national Team? I used to watch Mohan Bhagan and Salgoakar Goa etc in the past, like late 80s...I never saw any good football player after that (just at national level).

what a moron... first of all this comparison is invalid. Now that u tried that, let me point out that Anand 'singlehandedly' won so many championships for India... and brought Indian in the top of the world in Chess. With all respect to Sachin, he has not being able to achieve that!

Anand is defenitely a National Hero of India, like Sachin Tendulkar and can make any constructive statements!

If Sachin is GOD let him do the miracle..Win WC..I am 100% sure he cannot do that(please dont say all 11 players need to perform)..if he cannot win for India then he is just like any other player.. Not GOD...

Anand is a genius, when compare to sachin. Cricket is a game played by 11 individuals. But chess is a mind game.
