All Indian football lovers wait for Asian cup 2011, India have qualified for Asian cup after a long gap. That tournament may become a big fortune changer for Indian football. That tournament will be under the radar of all world famous clubs & once our single player get a chance to be a part of any world-class club, then just see the enjoinment of whole country. They will forget Dhoni & his team with in a day & all will go behind soccer, because what cricketers are earning in years footballers are earning that in days. Today Sachin & Dhoni are one of the richest cricketers but they are still far far behind Ronaldo, Messi, Rooney, Nadal, Fedderer, Hamilton & Tiger Woods. So please wait for our a single player to make entry in to any world class soccer club, he will become a hero of all nation. Then everybody including Indian Corporate will try to fallow him & Indian Football.

I have read India once got chance to play world cup in 50's. But they wanted to play bare footed and disallowed by world cup committee. Can any body give more information?

Heey guys y r u underestimating india??? One qstion do u guys allow ur kids to participate in any school level athletic meets??? most say "NO". Then y u r blaming these ....India means...we... i mean me u and the others reading this....

very rightly said I am working as a GM for a MNC but every Sat and sun mrn I gather around 30 kids in the age group of 6 to 11 yrs I Make them play football without fail...like this if everybody prepares kids for this game one day we will surely have a good football team...sports is much beyound Cricket...

India qualified (actually without playing a single qualifying match) for the 1950 World Cup final competition but withdrew following a FIFA ruling against barefoot players. India had never been able to qualify for the World Cup before and have never been able to do so since then!!!

It might be due to the officials of IFA who has no idea about the world football ?
