Mexico owe this result to the goalpost, which absorbed two shots where everybody else had been beaten. 3-1 in favour of South Africa would have been a just result.
It was a good open game, particularly in the second half, in which both teams created chances. South African Goalkeeper effected some fine saves, and both goals were excellent strikes.
Compared to this one, the second game was very slow and boring, with both teams afraid to show initiative.

The first half attacks were from Mexico and SA Goalkeeper had to be praised for keeping the home crowd happy with some saves. The finishing of Mexico in first half was not sharp.
Still, the draw was a good result to the spirit of the game. Mexico deserved a draw.

I didn't watch the second game, but the first game between Mexico and SAf albeit a bit slow to start off was fascinating. The likes of Dos Santos and Franco for Mexico, and Mphela and Tshabalala infused a lot of energy and enthusiasm into the game, and gave as a lovely opener to flag off the tournament.
