If this were a match between India and zim,and discussion about yuvis dropping there would have been 100 plus messages. This proves that cricket is our religion and will be for centuries. Not many except kerala and goa and bengal are really interested.Discussions in my office canteen in Satyam is mainly about team India in Asia cup.Id ont know much about football, but may the best team win

Cricket-some are unncessarily criticizing cricket for this. Who stopped them from developing a gud football team? Dont we have hockey team? See..basic thing is we are not fascinated about this big game-we are fascinated abt cricket which is played in every nook and corner of India.Futbal is only played in some places like bengal,NE.

Do you really think only 15-16 nations play cricket? How they get those qualifying countries for world cup then? by lucky draw?
Get your knowledge corrected bro. We don't know what happens in Cricket qualifiers because India never played any, feel lucky for that. :)

really ?? how come India qualified for Soccer semi-finals in 1956 olympics (when there were no age restrictions as now, so it was equal to the world cup). People all over the world weren't eating beef then?? We never ate anyway.
It is the pathetic politics and associations that have made common public lose interest in the sport - once the interest is gone, you won't get quality sportsmen into this sport.

There is much more corruption in Cricket.There is some scandal always going on. However the fact remains that we , the Indians shamelessly adore and worship the game of cricket. This is killing all other games in the country. The Indians qualified in 1956 becase our freedom was new and we were not the shameless followers of Cricket which we are after advent TV. For Indians glory in World Cups of Hockey, Football or in Olympics will always remain a distant dream till they give up their pathetic and shameless glorification of Cricket and thinking that we are some sort of world champions

India was once upon a time a good football nation, we used to shine at Merdecca and at Asian levels (played even in Olympics). But slowly the standards came down, and now even we are not even good as Bangla, Nepal and Srilanka..the situation is really pathetic..

India should play with Pak, Bangla and Malaysian teams first and then compete at the ASEAN level and then at the International level...Surely by 2075 !!! you will see our team at the Cameroon level

For India Sports had become business and part of corporate activities. But FIFA has very strong nations like Germany USA Italy .. which will not allow craps like BCCI to rule football so India will never qualify this itself answers second question
The pattern in the alst 12 WCs was that the cup was won alternately between europe and latin america. So theoretically LA has more chances now. Lets see..
