How many Indians actually follow football??
by sandeep kumar on Jun 09, 2010 01:15 PM  | Hide replies

Rediff is covering football, as if india is invloved in it.I am techie with blore, and in a recent quiz, we saw that many of our guys didnt even know where the world cup was going to be held. All our discussions centre around team India and Yuvis exit. Cricket is our religion, and as India is never ever going to play in world cups, we should cheer our cricketers as much as possible, so that we can say that we are champions in atleast one sport. Anyway, i am sure brazilains and germans have never heard of cricket. So instead of worrying about what mexico is upto, lets cheer for our country in Asia cup!

Dear Sandeep,

I am too fr Blr but lets not talk rubbish. We all have to agree that Football is the game and no way cricket can come close to it. Just that we do have a great football team it doesnot mean we should not watch the Football World.
Football World Cup is the Biggest thing in Sports.
Please do Watch

Football is much better game than cricket as it involves team spirits and it can be played by anyone and less destructive as compared to cricker which is the legacy of the british and cricket kit cost around 5000

foot players are highest paid people compared to cricket players. ofcourse the popularity of football is just awesome. but the football kit (shoes, guards, uniform, football )are also not cheap. for good quality you will have to pay a lot more..

Off late soccer has become a game of hooligans. One must be remembering what happened during the finals of 2006.Only European teams are shown favour by refrees.
