The National Football Team of India has defeated a 3rd Division Side of Portugal and it has become a news. To test their performance, they should have played against top Portuguese club sides like Porto and Benfica.

Ashamed to be an Indian

We I witnessed the glorious FIFA world cup last month one question flashed my mind billion times: "WHY, WHY, WHY isn't India not a footballing nation ?".

I am an Indo-American. My colleagues asked me throughout the course of the world cup about why Indians are "lazy" when it comes to playing the global game. I had no answers but a smile. A country with over a billion people cannot produce 11 footballers ?? I can't believe it. Instead Indians and Indian politicians are busy jetting out cash towards a useless colonial sport cricket. I am not against cricket since I too enjoy it however it's time India took it's football seriously. If we truly want to become a super power in the global stage then we also should improve out sporting culture be it the Olympics and football. Enough is enough.

Hi Jay G_a_n_d_u, onething ask ur American friend.. do they like soccer? So don't try to prove urself as how big fool u're. Truth is in US, football is not even top 10 sports forget about popular. So, don't bark, u go and lick some1 a$$. Cricket is the 2nd most popular sport on planet, check out wikipedia b4 u bark. And, we are proud of it. If cricket is lazy sport, then ask those boot licker face Bret Lee, Shau Tait or any fast bowler. I can guarentee u they will susu on field just after very first ball delivered.

It is good that we are able to beat 3rd divison club sides there..but would have preferred playing against some 2nd divison or may be 1st divison Portuguese sides there...is that on our schedule..if yes would be good practise before the Asia Cup!!

Watchout china will participate in next worldcup, we cant even qualfiy out of asia zone...
Onew word "PATHETIC"

We run behind cricket, yet we dont win a world cup barring 1983, we indians are physically unfit to play any team sport at the highest level of fitness
