most of the star player like messi, maradona, ronaldinho are of small height still they are the one whole rule the world of football. so why the hell is this told again and again that indians can't play football
MLS is among the worlds weakest leagues where most of it is filled from canada, honduras,cuba etc and some european players who cross 35! And even then he cant get a game. Even the hyped Bhutia failed to make an impact playing in english 2nd division, forget playing for lowlevel premership sides. The fact is we should stick to games that we are good at: like cricket where we are No1, and home to the lucrative IPL, whicha ttracts world stars at their peak, and full houses at stadiums. Todays football is about speed and power, and we can never be there. Same holds good for athletics and swimming, where we are nowhere. Cricket,chess,shooting,badminton are the games where we are world champs. And I would rather watch yuvi for kings 11, rather than chettri for some Kansas. Lets leave the football to europeans and south americans.

check the fifa ranking of USA,Canada,Honduras and cuba..India was good in football and we can regain our stand.chetri feel diificult ,but again his experince will help team india in asia cup..

I disagree with the above comment, Cricket doesnot come close to what football is. Yes, in my country we have not produced the football culture but yes, it will happen. Speed,skill, physique are all important and we Indians are not low on this... it is just that football in India needs a cult form, am sure this will happen. I agree cricket has matured in India, i see cricket coaching clinics all over the cities, kids sporting trendy gear and all. I wish, we could see football coaching as well. India can and will be a football nation, we lost our way but we will come back. Yes it might take 20 years or more but we will. we should.

Dear SK now pls let me know how many ppl in india can play competetive cricket ?. How many are offardable to the cricket gears? All the Players who plays cricket nationaly and internationaly are all are from the rich family and also from the capital cities. u show me one person from the village with poor back ground in the National team. Whereas all our football, hockey, volleyball, basketball etc., players are all from the poor to poorest back ground. If at all you dont know any thing please dont insult them. Indians are not incapable in any field, it is the system which pulls them down.

Boss they are from the middle class family thats all. They are not from poor family who cant even afford a bat and ball. I.M. Vijayan, formal indian football team captain, struggled in his school day even to buy shoes you know?
