are we really prepared for commonwealth 2010?
by sanjeev chadha on Jul 18, 2010 07:10 PM  | Hide replies

All ppeople should take a trip of stadiums to find out if we will be ready for games at all?No...we wont be...till yesterday the infrastructure was in bad shape...when will it collapse?when will the money go down the drain?the cost of the project has increased from rs 900 crores to Rs 30,000 crores and is rising...rising...no bidder for major services..and then committee is negotiating at the prices demanded by vendors which 4 times actual cost of tender...The corruption of politicians will be exposed...AT LAST...But they are not bothered because weather is likely to wash away games and the money...WE DELHI PEOPLE SHALL BE THE BIGGEST SUFFERERS.

atheletes flock to the games where they encounter the best competition and they are tested fully. India should break out into the a top club in atheletics or pay substantial dollars to evince interest or partcipate in games conducted in India.

Nobody is interested in this flop hosting of commonwealth games. This commonwealth concept is for countries who served as slaves for England.

@ Mac
I agree with you dude, this is supposed to be the games for countries who're slaves of england, and now some guy from this country itself is not considering this events as bigger one. It's time we come out of this slave mentality and stay out of this commonwealth concept forever.

During the course of games what would be price of Wheat (a crop grown in Punjab)? Since some leading sportspersons are not attending the games there would be less consumption of food, electricity, water, fuels therefore there may be drop inprices of these articles

its happy news
by biswanath roy on Jul 18, 2010 01:46 PM

with lots of top(champion)foreign participants pulling out of delhi commonwealth games, indians should be happy,as they will get a chance to be on the winners podium.at the rate in which the top performers are shying away from delhi, india could land up in the first position in the overall medals tally.

you do not understand india's stand for hosting the commonwealth games.india under mms considers itself the country with the largest number of english speaking population. this is a chance for the indian govt to show its sycophancy towards the whites(england, canada, australia, new zealand, scotland, wales, northern ireland & etc).under mms india is no longer an asian nation.

Mumbai and bangalore are as big a trash as delhi. Only city which had the infrastructure to organize such a event was hyderabad.
But for GoI India means only delhi or mumbai.

Be ready to feel ashamed of being Indian after this CWG.

shame on us
by Kalyanasundaram Venkatesh on Jul 18, 2010 11:29 AM  | Hide replies

In fact, Commonwealth Games are 'shame' on us as its for all those countries ruled by British. We should have rejected the commonwealth games; instead we should prepare well for the Asian Games thats going to be held in the same period in Guangzhou, China and also start the preparation for 2012 Olympics.
