Will this fad catch on to Indian cricket fans during 2011 World Cup ? Imagine 100,000 people at Eden Gardens blowing these vuvuzelas at the same time. The decibel level will go through the roof. It is unbelievably noisy there always as it is.

chill kaushik... in India you are not allowed to take anything inside the stadium. Yes, if BCCI decides to setup a stall in the stands to sell vuvuzelas, then it might be a problem.

Rahul, are you not forgetting the money and efforts involved? it it is known well in advance, the mfg and traders will not get into making all those vuvuzelas and the fans will also not waste money on them.
FIFA is sensitive and hence it did not ban it this year, as it is a local form of celebration. But it is not native to Brazil, hence it is alright to not allow its use.
And why are you so concerned about FIFA. did you not see people with drums, trumpets and all sorts of instruments. You could even see beer in the public stands. they allow fans to enjoy, untill the point it is in limits.
And in India, cricket matches go without anything except sponsored 4&6 posters. You are not allowed to carry even your cell phone and bottle of water. Water is then sold inside for 2-4 times the normal price. What is your say on that?

Did you go to S. Africa to watch the matches live? If not, then you had the option of turning down the TV volume. And I bet punekar, you dont dance on laxmi road during ganpati on nashik dhol, right?

Nice !!! even commentary was not clearly audible.. and players have constantly complained about it through out the world cup.. it certainly distracts players.
