Mueller was the best Guy in tournament..He missed the semi due to wrong decision by Refree but anyways he played really well and has a bright future of Germany as well...The found of tournament was Mueller for sure with Midas Touch
too bad the wc has become like wrestlemania-i mean the crowds are there but there is too much of fakery going around, not like the good old days when it was almost like war and players would give off their best to the final whistle. calling it total football or the beautiful game is such a mistake..the dutch played too ruff and this team has no comparision to the great Dutch teams of yesteryears...the spanish barely managed to scrape thru with one goal on most of their games...neither side deserved to lift the trophy...the only bright spot was Diego Forlan whose indomitable spirit showed what the world cup is all about!
Heartiest congrats to all people whoes names mentioned above, especially Thomas Mueller and Diego Forlan! You played majestically, you were Fantastic! Thanks for the wonderful entertainment you provided us. You are awesome! All the best for your future!
Thsi World cup saw the worst performance by the referees and they should be awarded for their inconsistency in not translating the the rules properly. Each one made their own interpretation of the rule book and did as they wished on the pitch. The umpire guild should be appreciated for not allowing the players to play their usual game with flair.
Soccer is not for sissys; it is typically manly game where rough tackles are part of the game play. It is to be taken in stride and noticed once the matters go out of hands.
The finals definitely was a show of Referee Webb who was partial to Spain and he literally saw that Neds were never off the hook. He played a vital role in breaking the spirit of the game with his record bookings. The likes of great referees who pionerred the game to enjoyble heights was missing miserably.
The stds of refereeng should be improved for quality and consistency of the play other wise the WC will loooe its charm & glory.

You are nuts...you are just a blind supporter of nederlands...if you saw how the dutch played and how they fouled, you would have never opened your mouth....go and check any website where you get the match review and everybody will say there was too much fouling on the part of dutch and the game was not worthy of a world cup final

Forlan deserved the award for sure. His extraordinary display took an ordinary team like Uruguay to Semi-finals.
Also, the hero of yesterday's final was Match referee 'Howard Webb'. He gave the right treatment to Dutch's who don't belive in football but 'footfall'. They escaped against Brazil because of a mild Japanese referee. Only and Only one Ducth player plays real football. Arjen Reubben.

Correct, in front of such a strong Spanish defence he created two scoring opportunities. He was the best players yesterday, but without any support from other team members. The other Dutch players were just busy in obtaining Yellow cards.

Sorry, someone created those opportunities for Robben and my grand mom would have easily kicked them into the goal.
Btw, why are you so worked up about his name, is not it pretty simple?
There is no fair play in the WC final. Both sides have got plenty of yellow cards.I am just wondering how Spain got fair play award??? I didnt see any football in the final. The teams are competing each other in making fouls. It is not good for the future of football

Spanish team got the least number of yellow cards in the whole tournament which is quite a discipline task to achieve. Until the final match, they have received only 4 yellow cards in the whole tournament. That speaks volume about the fair play. For the final match, when the opponents received 9 yellow cards, you can expect they will land themselves on Spanish feet as well.

Anoop. I don't agree with you. Spain deserved the fair play award for the less number of yellow cards they got during entire tournament. Yesterday they were forced to get physical due reply to an all physical game of Holland.
The best finalists would have been Brazil & Germany for the beautiful game they play. But, Spain deserved to win teh fairplay trophy.

Spain had the most beautiful passing game. Brazil no more play their original style, they ar ejust like any other counter attacking Europian team. Germany were awesome when they attacked, but they gave too much respect to spain when it mattered most.

It's just the occasion that caused the two teams play that way. Do you know that in the last WC final in 2006, the world's best foot ball player Zidane (who was usally very cool headed guy) got a red card for his head butt?
