Arjen Robben should have been given an Oscar for Best Actor in thsi World Cup. His acting in the Semi Finals as well as in the Finals was disgraceful and was instrumental in yellow cards to at least 4 different people.

And its a shame that the Dutch call it as a tactic. If it was in EPL, he would have got the Red card for diving. He should consider himself lucky here....!
They got into the skins of the Brazilians with this tactics and Spain was too good for them... Sour Grapes ppl.... Congratulations on the rare Hatrick...!! Change your games... the flying dutch can fly and dive all he wants... the maximum u will reach is the finals like how u did all the three times!!!
Robben should be thankful that he was not sent off instead. What would he have to say about De Jong's action? FIFA should introduce a "black card",suspension from the game for the whole life, for such blatant foulers...

Very bad game by the dutch. It was a full too negative game they were playing.
Spain was superb. Dutch is to be blamed for the dirty game. They started it from the very first minute. We have seen the match between spain and germany. How decently they played. it has been their style. on the other side think of the match between brazil and the dutch. it was very rough and again a dirty match. Their both te teams were playing the rough way. Here again spain played cool. They started playing rough for their own survival. The way one of their lpayer was stamped on the chest, he should have been sent off immediately. Now they are blaming the spaniards who comparitevely played better football. their weakness was the star player david villa. He was a total flop. He could get 7 off side calls, but could not play the ball even for minute. Te substitute No.10 made it simpler then the forward attacks started coming on. they deserve it.

Exactly.. Not a single Yellow card were given in that match... Professional game.. and the plan is to play well and score... Not "free kick creating dramas" and diving...!!
See the matches played by the Dutch... and specifically watch Robben.... you will see a gentle breeze can bring him down tumbling.. and based on convinience he will grab his thighs, ankle, knee and roll in pain!!

@Philo You are rite... Insieta was a good competitor for Robben. Both should be nominated for FIFA Oscars.

Not as much as Robben... wipe the tears off your face and watch the matches with Brazil, Uruguay and the final again.. and guage your team's performance... You will see it for yourself!
Many Thanks to S A for organising a wonderfull FIFA World Cup. Fans were organised and we have not heard of any Hoognalism from various centres.
Final was more an aticlimax to the exciting matches dished out in the preceding months of WC. Mr. Howard Webb a police official could control the physical match to certain extent. I would only blot him with one corner not given to Netherlands.
Spain though with an initial hiccup lifted the WC with much panache and delightful Football. They are the reigning EC champions hence their credentials as WC champions are beyond doubt led ably by Iker Cassilas.
argentina and spain are the only teams which doesnt have blacks in their team..in the sense, they have home grown players..where as, even teams like germany and netherlands have started to import blacks, who might have settled there for some time, blacks always are athletic and physically strong and more fouls are also committed by them...if all blacks go back to their places of ancestery, then am sure any one of the african team will go on to win the world cup..
the chest kick on alonso was the most bizarre incident..jong should have been sent off , wat u say arjen?? before the start of the game, u told that we wont play a beautiful game and lose instead we will play rough game to win...
i saw the whole match last night i am fuly agree with robben puyol should be send off or he should be shown yellow card at the time when he try to stop robben in that manner if his play was fair at that time result might have been diffrent

maybe yes... but going by the same yardstick, holland would have had only the goalkeeper playing at the end of the first half! bladi SoBs kicked and bit like a bunch of rabid dogs and horses....ugly dirty rogues

The law states that at least seven players (on one side) must be on the field for the game to on.

Jay, First understand the law of the game, Puyol tried a pull Robben but a foul is awarded only if the player falls but in this case, Robben maintained his composure and kept of going and at last he ended up givign the ball to Casillas.. He is giving excuses now, if he would have scored then goal then the whole scenario could have been different, isn't it... looser.. BTW, Dutch could have reduced to 10 players in the first half itself had the referee given the red card to Du Jong.. It is bitter feeling for all the Dutch fans.. but the reality is the Spanish is far superior then any other team. Accept it..

dont reason with Dutch Fans Shesh Lak, nothing will get into their crying brain right now..!! Leave them alone.. they can complain, cry... shoot... kill themselves.... do everything.. Oranje lost... and were shown their place...!
teams that could have won the world cup, rather they should have won it...there was nothing tough in the way of Spain...And the match between Germany and spain was a total nuisance by referees....It was like referee favouring spainiards through out the match...the worst teams were there in the group of spain...Seeing there form in the initial games, they would have not qualified, had there been a little good teams...

LOL.. which teams? Argentina and Brazil lost to superior teams - Germany and Netherlands. Spain beat both of them ans chapter closes there.
Nobody wins WC by luck or having to pay weaker teams. You get luck in group stage and probably in pre quarter. Then onwards it is only tough teams and only the best wins. SPain beat potugal, germany and netherlands. Brazil couldnt beat portugal or netherlands, AG were blown away by Germans. England payed crap football.
If don;t understand footbal better restrict yourself to cricket discussion boards :)

Spain lost to Swizz. They were definitely lucky to make it to second half. And refrees error ahich was aglore in this cup final helped them to win. Remember Robben is a gentle man foot baller. Spain cleverly converts every attempt to take possesion away into a foul!

'Gentle' Man is too weak to play foot ball... if someone run past him, without touching him.. that breeze is enough for this "flying dutch" to fall down and roll in pain and agony....!! he he Gentle man! :-p

completely agree. such drunk people like devdas(who dont understand the F of football) should restrict themselves to tiny cricket.
You were a good side to match Spain and hold them in goalless draw till 116min and in the end loosing will be always painful, especially a talented player like you miss two good chances.(first of which would have been hailed as defence spliting master piece by the mastero - Snedjer, if you scored it and who knows, you would have won it) Your utterness is a result of the dispointmet of loosing. In spite of 14 yellow, I think Webb did a resonably good job under the circumstances.
