Diego Forlan is not a "Discovery", He has two la liga golden boots under his belt and has had success in european competitions, most recently he won the Europa League, He's also an ex-man utd player.

true what u said...since the wc is over the football newbies will go back to epl , roonies and ferdinands thinking that is the best club football has to offer, hype and over hype the ridiculous 'stars' of football from epl and then will be shocked by well known , well established players from more competitive leagues come the next world cup..too bad the german youngsters are heading towards england this season

This world cup is being regarded as worst world cups ever by pundits and fans alike.
Finally Forlan is a two time European golden boot winner and a top marksmen in European football for long. He was also a great player at Independiente..His only lean patch was at Manchester United but it was long forgotten after he smashed records at Villareal.

It all depends on your age and expereince to shell out or justify your opinions world cup. I am 35 and has been watching these tournaments for long.
Spain played only 65% of their potential and scrapped out a world cup win. They might be deserving winner though.
