Forlan is by far the best player in the tournament! Class player..y'days goal against germany adds to his brilliance in finishing......Great team player, leads team from front unlike cristiano ronaldo...He certainly deserves to be the player of the tournament.!
I cannot agree more with this article. Diego Forlan is definitely far far more than a great footballer. He is an inspiration, a shy but natural leader, a man born to doing selfless deeds. The world does not need more Christiano Ronaldos, who may have flair and style, but who come across as just sef-seeking and self-obsessed. But we definitely need lots lots more Forlans...men who by their sheer presence and example inspire us to keep going even when the chips are down.Salute you sir, may you keep going for a long long time.
What had been this reporter's brief, before he left for South Africa? Whenever he gets to write something, all that he mentions about is the women he met and the other beautiful ones he saw..Looks like this repressed Indian has gone to South Africa only to ogle and womanize..
golden ball is given to a player who scores maximum goals irrespective of whether he helped his team to win the match or not. Floran has scored five along with other 3. D.Villa of spain and Snijider of Holland are still left with a match to prove their supremacy and mettle.

to correct, Golden Ball is the award given by FIFA to the best player. Highest goal scorer gets the Golden Boot. Currently Forlan is in the race for the Golden Boot having tied with Villa, Sneijder and Muller at 5 goals.

before writing comments u shud atleast check yr facts, there is a golden boot for top scorer and golden ball for best player.
He is the golden boy of the year. He has played very exceptionally very well in this world cup......what to do unfortunately....urugway...last...match...
BUT 'No 13 Thomas Muller' the german striker 'missing' a match 'Crashed' there 'WORLD CUP - 2010' dream.
He is the 'FIFA' S 'Young Player' to future and 'Golden Ball'winner.
The german coach or the promoter's did not use 'service' correctly this world cup which forced him to stay out of a crucial 'MATCH' which led to germanys defeat in semi.

FYI ... there is no 'Golden Ball' award in FIFA world cup. Highest goal scorer gets the 'GOLDEN BOOT'...

FYI, golden ball has been started as a new award for 'player of the tournament'. this is apart from 'golden boot' which is for highest scorer.

get some knowledge about foot ball then comment, he was out of semi due to 2 yellow cards in quarter final and pre quarter final.
