The finals will be between Netherlands and Spain.
Nobody expected or rather very few thought that these two teams will reach the finals.
The final game is gonna be a wonderful eager and all of us are eager to view the game.
All the best to both the teams.
Let the better team win.
---------------------------
Having voiced my personal feeling, let me put on my 'secular' hat and write.
As all of us know , India is a secular country lead by the most dynamic secularist called Edvige antonia Manio Gandhi and her man-Friday Dr.Manmohan Singh.
As Italy was knocked off earlier, it brought gloom to the most eminent lady secularist and many of the Kangressi folks.[Do you remember when italy won the last World cup, many Kangressi secularists burst crackers and distributed sweets in many parts of India]

Now if Netherlands wins the final, wont it aggravate communalism?
The Dutch players wear orange colour dress. This colour is very close to the most communal colour -saffron or the more communal word -bhagva.
I strongly suspect that a right wing org. based in Nagpur has prevailed upon the Dutch to wear the communal orange colour.
Why not a team wearing the secular green win the match?
The secular govt of India should request the Spanish team to wear the secular green colour. The secular govt. of India should also prevail on the referees to see that the secular green wearing team wins the match.
If the Dutch win, then it will aggravate communalism.
Long live secularism!

Pathetic Spain
by Abdul Jabbaar on Jul 08, 2010 05:57 PM  | Hide replies

Spain were pathetic to say the least. Not that Germans were better, they looked like sleeping on the field.

But Spain is the most undeserving candidate to win the trophy. All they know is passing the ball till the box and then their true colors are shown. Incompetent attack could not even convert even one chance after having all the possession. These so called champs cant even convert one on one chances.

Germany paid the price for playing with defensive mindset. And that too after putting up the performances of the tournament against England and Argentina.

Hope the dutch tear them apart. They are more physical and aggressive. The spaniards will lool liks schoolboys against a strong team.

Jabbaar,
I think you don't understand the conceptof football or for that matter any game. Did you see the ball possession passing helped Spain to dominate the German to push them back into their half. Just think logically, if one team moves the ball amonng their player and other teams player simply chase it then what would happen? It will simply frustrate the opponent, and this is what Spain did yesterday, then pushed German slowly and slowly into their half and most of the time the game was played on German half only.
Dutch team is a mediocre one compare to Spainish class and technique. They get more physical and will get into it very soon on Sunday final match and you will see Spain routing them easily. Spaniards are not called the best team for just like that, the substance they bring to game gives them upper hand against any other team. They could have ended up winning semi with 2-0.
It is as simple as it is, who ever get the first goal in football gets into the driver seat and in the last 2 matches German did the same but they were not allowed to dictate the terms in the match agains Spain, in a simple word, Spaniards simply out played in every department of the game, be it the technique, ball possession, mental strength, psychology.. you name it anything. They were top notch and they will be in the final too.. Wait for 2 more days.. PERIOD...

Frustrating the opponent is one thing. What Im saying is you should also score to be a gud team. Thats what all the good teams do. Be it Brazil when they are winning the cup or any other team. Spain has scored only 7 so far in 6 matches. And that too, they have had the easiest route till semis. They have only managed to scrape through most of the matches with late goals from villa and yesterday even he looked out of form.

Finally, they needed a header from a defender to win. Had the germans showed atleast 50% of what they are capable of, they would have scored more.

If Spain wins, it will be one of the luckiest teams to win the cup with the least number of goals in the tournament. Not good from a game point of view.

Jabbaar,
Germans were not allowed to play the way they did in previous matches by Spain. Germans couldn't find space there were getting earlier. Why don't you accept that Spain was a better team that's they won.
Now come about scoring goals, Germans were good in defensing and they were sealing all the opportunity for the Spaniards that's why they couldn't score though they tried few times more over Germans out played Spanish players on physicality that was one big reason for no goal because spanish players are small in stature and looked like menows in from of tall and giant germans.
Why do you see a header by Spain a cheap way to score a goal, Dutch did the same this, didn't they? Doesn't matter how you score as long as it is a valid goal.
Now the final point about the being lucky, neah buddy, they were favorites from the begining of this WC and they have lived upto the expectations.
What happened to Germany after scoring 4 goal in last 2 matches? They have been shown door by Spain. It doesn't matter how many goals you score as long as you are winning. Whole world is praising Spanish team for their performace and you the one who turned a blind eyes towards them. Go watch the semi final again and then decide who played better.
[Just for your kind info, Portugul routed N. Korea by 7 goals but that doesn't mean they are a better team compared to others on the basis of number of goals.]

You still havent answered the part regarding the easy draw they had. They may be considered contenders from the beginning but what you do on the field is what matters. A team which makes a hard work on easy opponents and failing to score against good teams do not deserve to win.

Its funny you say about the size of the players. If that matters, many of the great footballers and goal scorers would not have been great at all. And BTW, is it the same with all the other opponents they played ? Why cant they score against Swiss, Chile, Portugal and Paraguay. Only against Honduras they scored 2.

I still maintain Germany were worse that day, but Spain was bad as well.

Yes, Germany were bad that day, but that does not automatically make Spain better. Had Kroos scored the only chance they got, it would have been a lot different.

Andres Inienta suffered savage attacks from Close,Podolski & others but never for a moment gave up and lit up the left flank gloriously to make the Germans look novices

you are biased. Germans were poor yesterday but even poorer is Spain. After all the posession, the co called champs looked like school boys unable to convert even a single chance. With such a incompetent attack, they dont deserve to win at all. Hope the dutch tear them apart.

Why one would look poor when they were playing good against others. You always compare one with other that's how the analysis goes and when compared with Spain, Germans were poor and in previous matches, German played against teams which were poor against them that's why they won easily.
And what is this nonsense word like tear them apart, where ever I see your post, you have been repeating it again and again. It is a war or what? Use subtle words my dear...
For the final, better sit and compare both Spanish and Dutch teams analysis and see who are better, then you will change you thought process. Don't be biased. OK

Im not biased. See the teams Spain had to face in the route to final. Not a single tough team. They lost to Swiss, scraped through remaining matches and managed 1 goal in the later stages and advanced. And faced a half sleeping Germany in the finals.

The class missing
by Sebastian Cherukanam on Jul 08, 2010 05:24 PM  | Hide replies

The class shown by Germans during both pre-quarter and quarter final matches was completely missing in yesterday's match and the entire match, especially the first half, was literally boring to watch. In earlier matches, German players' passes were accurate, forward players' positioning were perfect just to kick or head the ball to the net, their movements were rhythmic but yesterday was not their day may be because of the fight on captaincy.

Spain is the least deserving team to b in the finals. Hope the dutch crush them.

Schweinsteiger was not allowed by Spaniards.. For that matter, non of the German players were allowed room to play. Spaniads simply dominated them either by quick immecable passing or taking the ball away from them. why don't you accept the truth.

Scoring when no one was around is a matter of selfishness on part of Pedro. Had he passed the ball to Torres, Germans could have seen it 2-0. Spanish team is pathetic that's why they have been performing consitently for past 3 years, they are the EURO 2008 winners, #2 in FIFA ranking. Comeon.. they are the best team and it will be proved on Sunday.

Spain steam rolled Germany in the last nights match. The deft passes and fast paced tactics paid rich dividends for the spaniards.Deutschland sorely missed Mueller, but excuses are not enough now. They need to look to improving their game for the next world cup now.Congratulations to Cassiallas and his men..!

Spain were pathetic.. Not that Germans were better, they were actually sleeping.. But Spain has the most incompetent attack. They had a lucky draw till semifinals scraping through match after match with 1 goal.

It will be highly unfair if such a team wins the WC. Hope Netherlands tear them apart.

Germany were caught off guard with their style. They havent faced any other good team so far. Otherwise, they wud hav been shown the door. Paraguay almost did it.
