by ravi krishnan on Jul 05, 2010 05:03 PM

Sorry pal! Robben has proven his worth this WC...despite all the husstling by the Brazilians he held his own and was a work horse...infact it's after his return to the playing 11 that he Holland's been performing...he's quite a star but one who's standing up to his reputation....

have another world cup, which is of 30 mins duration in each half..slowly and steadily, when this format gets the full support, have another world cup which is of 20 mins duration but with 6 players each...by this way, we get to see frequent world cups which means uniterrupted entertainment and new world champions every time and in all formats of teh game..when we can have t20 in cricket, y cant we have similar thing in football..

before the start of the world cup itslef, i was eagerly awaiting for Vill'a magic and he also pleased all his fans by his superb form of game....

Villa always better than the other so called Star players(hyped by media) like Rooney,Ronaldo or Kaka......

How the Heroes Have Fallen
by Great Khali on Jul 05, 2010 03:28 PM

With the ouster of the top marletable teams (Brazil, Argentina, England, France, Italy) the world has also seen the rise of the unknowns or lesser knowns. The grit of Ghana and USA, the Spirit of Uruguay, the Class of Germany have outshone the dollars that get associated with players from the more well-known teams. But, Money can't buy you the World Cup. Nor can Fame or Celebrity Status. Only Team Work can, and that is what Germany has shown. It is this quality that will see the Germans retake the World Cup in 2010.

A superb combination of attack, midfield, and defence, they are the team to beat. All the other semi-finalists have struggled to score goals and it's this quality that is magnificent in the German team.

Another lesson is that Individuals don't deliver a World Cup; its the team that works towards it and achieves.

Rubbish rediff
by maha viswanathan on Jul 05, 2010 03:13 PM

What sort of Rubbish is this?? David Villa was always the first choice and he never was in the shadow of Torres..Rediff probably only know the EPL and hence its sycophancy is clearly visible. Villa was always much much better than Torres and if you didnt know this, i dont think you have any right to publish this ridiculous piece of garbage.
