Indian hockey has reached to a point where if they win it seem like a pleasant surprise. The victories are so rare and far apart that it seems like India is playing a foreign sport. It's pathetic when India gets pounded by Holland and then Japan goes on to beat Holland.

I am trying to be rational here. Indian hockey has come a long way since the debacle it had since 1990s.
Its in a much better shape and spirit.
I dont like them loosing but given the level they are playing, it proves that the difference is nothing but 19-20 and all they need is a bit of luck and consistency in support from us Indians !!!

It is indeed sad when the stylish India loses to country like mediocre Netherlands. Indians definitely have superior stick handling and play compared to the Dutch, who are more aggressive rather than stylish. But in the end, the animal brute always manages to win in the last 10-15 minutes of play, while the Indian team runs out of steam.
Our boys really need to prep up their stamina to be able to go the entire length without giving up.
