by Dhantannan on Jul 03, 2010 03:42 PM

old WI under lloyd won everything in cricket.
similarly pele's team in 60s and 70s did wonders.
but erything that goes up has to come down.

First, like we Indians can't accept defeat of our national team gracefully, Brazilians can't accept their team's. Moreover, they were right in blaming Dunga as he definitely lacked strategy to counter the tough game of the dutch.

Last, India will probably take a decade if not less, to beat Brazil the way you described :-)

When I said our national team, I meant the cricket team....

Brazil actually didn't play 50% of their game which they played against Chile.

Well said!! I dont think we stand near them atleast for the next 2 decades, specially with the focus too much on cricket.

I am an avid cricket fan, but at the same time follow football and tennis like my fellow Indians :-)

Cheers.

DEFEAT-ALWAYS HARD TO SWALLO
by pankaj roy on Jul 03, 2010 03:34 PM

BrAZIL STARTED THE MATCH ON A WRONG NOTE- UNNECESSARY AGRESSION.ROBINHIO USED FOUR LETTER WORDS AT THEIR OPPONENTS AND ALSO HAD A SPAT WITH THE REFEREE.a TEAM WITH SUCH WONDERFUL SKILLS IN THEIR BAG DOES NOT NEED TO ADAPT SUCH OFFENSIVE WAYS. HOPEFULLY THE NEXT EDITION THAT THEY HOST WILL BE THEIRS.

BRAZIL'S DEFEAT

But however, I feel the players were not aggressive enough and united in their efforts to achieve the goal. The real punch was absent and the great name in football - KAKA did not give the expected contribution. I hope the poison of match fixing played it's spoilsport.

Dunga does.............

.....what Greg Chappel did to our Cricket Team in 2007-08 - expell those who can challange your authority and retain some silent lambs in to the squad ! They forget its the emotion of the players that win them over others in a tight match like this . Controlling them like a robot will produce such a lacklustre performance like this .

If some one is to blame then it should be Brazilian Football Confederation. It is this Brazilian Football Confederation who appointed Dunga as the new national coach of the Brazilian national team as a replacement for Carlos Alberto Parreira, even though he has no prior coaching experience at professional level. When you do that, u fail. Now dont blame Dunga. Remember Brazil win a silver medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. This mean Brazil is no more superpower
