A Prediction

I reproduce the prediction of Vasu

VASUDEVAN V on Jun 08, 2010 01:35 PM
Good mathematics Patilji. In Tennis it is more difficult to retain your position on the top once you reach there. Federer did it from 2004 to 2007 and again in 2009. Federer is in a difficult position because he reached all the four grandslam finals and won two of them last year. Lots of points to defend and pushing 29, it was always going to be difficult. Nadal has nothing to defend after last year's French Open and everyone knew that if Nadal wins, he gets points. Nadal cleaned out the clay court season and gained lot of points by winning Madrid and French Open (the other two he had won last year also). Federer is on a downslide since Australian Open and none in between Nadal and Federer has taken advantage, allowing Nadal to climb back to the top, thanks again to the Clay court season. Irrespective of whether Federer defends his title or not at Wimbledon (you appear to be very confident that Fedex will not and I am very confident that it will not be Nadal, may be it will be someone like Roddick or even Murray, who knows!) Nadal will only gain. As far as Federer is concerned, he may not get back the no.1 position at all, but Nadal has lot of points to defend next year and hopefully some youngster will start asking questions just as Nadal did to Federer when Fedex was around 25! But, still do not undermine Fedex, who is greater than Nadal as of today overall and Nadal greater than Federer on Clay only

Now, Uncle. Is it not high time for you to call it quits?
You would also be advised you to take with you your understudy bango-tango, who remembers the names of 'also rans' and thinks he is an expert.
Henceforth, you two should show your expertise in the 'Tennis' or the 'Deuce' magazine, and not on rediff.

can tomas do this time for czech
by leo gomes on Jul 03, 2010 09:47 AM

tomas trying to do what ivan lendal could not do .a three time finalist at center courtwho ruled atp nearly 15 years won every thing during his time failed to add wimbledon to his name he is stll redretting for that miss and his famous one line to chair umpire agaist pat cash on a line dispute "you will not allow me to win wimbledon "is still fresh in the mind of many tennis fans. it may be an irony that many famous players still regret for what they missed rather than what they acheived, like ice borg one of the greatest who won french and wimbledon more than 5times each and may remain for a long time considering the tottaly diffrent type of surface, still at pain for the missing us open, and others like sampras edberg becker is still dreaming of french open which they could not win

by bango tango on Jul 03, 2010 03:27 AM  | Hide replies

f u bstds ....all of u r MC, BC , FC, BC etc etc ...suarez has gone wd the rule but this is the stupidity in the rules of football...

the same applies 2 nadal also...the stipulated rule is 20 seconds btwn serves but this guy will take 30 seconds ...coz of not getting perfect u/wear ....pathetic is that , in this yr Key Biscane open, the time taken by him btwn serves was shown on the TV....

C'mon Germany/Oranje:-) / Berdych .....

You are right. Nadal does take inordinately long between points, and it is a matter for the research oriented, to find out why the Tennis Umpires the World over are not doing anything about it. Apparantly, Nadal is stretching the rules within their elastic limit, but a self-styled expert like you should also take note of the manner in which he plays the points. Of course Federer is great and sublime, but Nadal has forced Federer to exist at least two years before schedule.
It is time you too retired from rediff, along with Vasudevan.

I am sorry for the spelling mistake. Read 'EXIT' for 'exist'.

Ivan Lendle is a great player but he did not win Wimbledon Finals in his career. Hope Tomas Berdych will win Wimbledon 2010 Finals. As he played some awesome tennis by defeating World Champion Roger Fedrer couple of days back.

Beating Roger Federer isnt considered a big deal anymore. If he can put it past Rafa, surely he will be a deserving champion.
