Sure for Federer now...............
by shakil on Jan 27, 2010 11:08 AM  | Hide replies

With No big ticket opponent/compititor left in fray( after Nadal ouster )Federer will find it relatively simple to grab 16th Title.
Like Sachin hitting centuries after centuries against poor Bangladesh.
Nadal was the Only challenger for Federer in Final ( leading 4-2 in G.S final ).

Nadal Ouster is due to injury.
After Nadal'souster remaining field is really like Bagladesh and will make Federer's task easier. No G.S winner, except Djoko, who won because Federer had mononucleosis in 2008.

I don't want to listen any excuse. After his 1st round match anyone was saying he is back. Even Nadal himself said he is totally fit. But he struggled in every match except 1st match. Result was obvious when he faced a tough opponent.

You dont wanna lsten any excuse? Then dont listen! You are welcome to leave the webpage, nobody misses you anyway. You're shooting your mouth off.Make hay when it shines,or so they say.Nadal is struggling with injury, and now players who couldn't take a set off him are beating him.It wont last,Nadal's fighting spirit and determination will see him come backl stronger and fitter, and Fedex will go back to crying after losing. In any case,Fedex and Nadal are great champions who would never insult each other. It's only stupid fans like my clone who take every chance to insult.

No surprise at all......
by Anurag Rathore on Jan 27, 2010 10:20 AM

In current form he comes after R.Federer, N.Djokovic, D.Potro and A.Murray. I expected his exit before semifinal. Even I doubt can he regain French Open?

As I said after Wimbledon 2008 "Nadal can't go long with that kind of game. His injury prone game will shorten his career." Nadal peak has gone. He can't play like a 18-19 years old kid. His stamina and reflexes are becoming slower as soon as age is catching him up.

You doubt he can regan French Open? Why that question mark after that statement...ahh...a lil bit of doubt I guess. That's the beauty of Nadal's fighting spirit and will power...even a Class A idiot like my clone (who is prone to making grand predictions that fall flat in his face)has his bit of doubt about writing off Nadal. His stamina and reflexes are becoming slower....due to his injury. He will be beack and the morons will crawl back into their holes.

Greatness is not merely about winning.
by VASUDEVAN V on Jan 27, 2010 09:52 AM

Greatness in sports is not merely about winning, but also preserving your body for longevity in the chosen game. Nadal simply failed to do it. Federer preserved his body and ensured that he peaked during the Slams and the results are there for everyone to see. Nadal chose the path of winning everything before him come what may, throwing caution to wind. Thus, while a great champion like Federer has just 60 odd titles (including 15 Slams)over a long period, Nadal has nearly 40 titles in double quick time, 75% of them on Clay. It is this obsession with clay that has cost Nadal dearly. He won. Everyone enjoyed him when the going was good, more so as finally there was someone to defeat Federer. May be the game of Tennis won, but Nadal has lost. He is just 23 and his injury seems to be quite serious. Perhaps he never will be the same again. Meanwhile, Federer, in spite of advancing years, is doing pretty well in Majors even now and on a given day if his opponent is below his best Federer will take advantage and will continue to win. Today Davydenko has to be at his best to beat Federer for anything below that will certainly be exploited by the great champion.

the way nadal is chickening out citing injury.. only shows he is a chicken trying to take on the eagles of tennis. he defeated players like novak, murray, del potro, when they were making their entry into the sport as professionals... he could also beat roger when he had a slump in form due to ill health.

You are a fast rate idiot who simply knows nothing about tennis! Nadal is probably the biggest fighter there ever has been on a tennis court, and he's been struggling with his knee injury for quite some time now. He would be the last person to ever chicken out on the tennis court. I have no great regards for his raquet skills (Fed is much better) but his will and fighting spirit are unparralled!

Excuse for Loss
by santh thomas on Jan 26, 2010 09:49 PM  | Hide replies

Nadal was getting hammered any way.So he found an easy way out.He did not have any injury. He has done this so many times.Fedex would have never done that.
Now few guys...Davy,Joker,DelPo,Murray,Cilic they are going to beat Nadal 9 times out of 10 in all surfaces other than clay and even on clay there is doubt abt Nadals chances. These guys have solid cross court backhand and hence Nadal's only strategy of high kicking, heavy spinning, balls to right handers backhand(read Federer) is not going to work.Nadal will never beat a right hander by playing balls to righties forehand.
An early retirement may not be such a BAD IDEA..

You are clueless and it is obvious you dont know the first thing about tennis. If it was as simple as high kicking heavy spinning balls to right handers backhands, why havent you won anything yet?Nadal is a great champion and even if he takes your stupid advice and retires he has earned his place in tennis history.Lets hear about your achievements and your qualification to talk about him. That's right...its ZERO in capitals. Now drink your milk and take an EARLY RETIREMENT...idiot.
