Rathore refused to release Ruchika's body to her father Subash unless he signed blank sheets of paper. The blank papers were later used by the police to establish that the family had accepted Ruchika's forged autopsy report. [38] Rathore also threatened to kill Ashu, who was still in illegal police custody. [24] At this time, Ashu was allegedly unconscious in CIA lock-up. He had been stripped naked and beaten the previous night by drunk policemen. He was brought back to his house, still unconscious, after Ruchika's last rites were over.[30][29]
In the inquest and the postmortem report, the name Ruchika was replaced with her nickname Ruby, and her father's name was changed to Subhash Chander Khatri.[39] This was to ensure that anyone reading the report would not know it pertains to Ruchika.[40]
The government closed the case filed against Rathore less than a week after her death.[41]
Unable to bear the harassment, her family moved out of Chandigarh.[2]
Just a few months later, Rathore was promoted to additional DGP in November 1994, when Bhajan Lal was chief minister. [18]

so what.. its all quite common in police cases.. innocent getting beaten up and all these are also shown in movies now and then.. whats that you what to prove.. after 19 years of case being dragged on in courts. the laws for molestation is very weak and also forcible anal sex is not viewed as rape and many more weak links in the 150 old judicial laws
tiger had it coming. the over commercialized capitalistic model also collapsed last year. hopefully, ridiculous celebrity endorsement, self centered behaviour and all the other rot will also be left behind! last year was a watershed for all things capitalistic, consumerist, yankee model of self over society.
