Sania is facing wrist injury of worst kind. Broken engegament is another reason. Unless she is physically/mentally 100%, we can't expect titles from her. Let's hope her recent slump will be over and she will be back with her usual fire. Sania was compered with Monica Seles four years back, but it seems Sania is way behind great legend Monica. Sania,Get recover fast from wrist injury and start winning titles for country.Best luck. Your well wisher- Shakil, Bandra ( Mumbai )
Perhaps a day would come when as a result of her 1000 consecutive first round exits, countries would stop granting her VISA as a sportsperson . That day only she would quit tennis.

I follow other sports also and I have lot of respect for Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi, Saina Nehwal, Dhanraj Pillay and many others. NOTE: None of them is Cricketer.
What is the matter with Sania.?Her fitness level is one of the main reason why she love to loose in all the 1st round. She needs to get back and improve her fitness level. She has to go through pain in order to gain. Its true that other top rank players risk in building strength even to the extend of looking masculine but thats theway it is.Sania had a great game and she could hit winners from any angel which has been acknowledge by some of the veteran WTA players.Where did she loose that?Time for Sania to take a break. She needs a long holiday. Its dissapointing.
Please do not again say 'at least an Indian has come so far, first woman from India etc' - it just speaks of v.low expectations and low standards. Such achievements mean nothing - first rd singles, 2nd rd doubles.... kids younger than Sania from wartorn countries have won GSlams.
The scary thing is - she is the best from India.
We just have to get off this 'best in India, at least a woman from India' nonsense. If we settle for such b's the country won't have any real stars. Please stop even saying 'then what have you done, at least she has lost in Wim'. She's a tennis professional right? that's what she is supposed to do.

You are right. We set the bar so low that anyone reaching even half of it is called great, given Padmashree or Padmabushan, given big land for constructing palacial bunglow, meeting state CM and country PM at whims and fancy, given all facilities for setting up sports acamemy (as if they have mastered everything), given huge sponsor contracts without understanding how long their performance lasts and all pampering. One Olympic medalist and praised and praised for ages and that is the end of everything. And this is India. Very sad to say. Too much of sympathy factor for woman, religion, caste or poverty. End result big ZERO.
This is the reason, why the society all over world and in all cultures suggests the women to be disciplined (by allowing restrictions). Success (hyped) has gone to her head. I can bet that when she will beg and regret, when she loses her leather charm. Another example is Freida Pinto. I totally support Muslim countries rules of not giving total freedom to women. Is not Saudi, Iran a developed place with their burka women?
