Looks like Rediff's obsession with America has seeped through its p0rn-infested mind. Its football, not soccer. What's next, call cricket bat-n-ball game? Cuz thats what Americans call it here. Its insulting to the game and the followers.

Rediff loves proving career and love advice to Indians that is actually for Americans. Its done the same for sports now.

Who calls it Soccer? It is Football Player of the Year.

The game is called Soccer by the Americans who anyway know no shit about the game.

This was a long time coming. I think Xavi deserves it not just for this year, but for his consistent performance over the years.

His clinical passes literally stitch the attack of any team he plays for. Invaluable talent.

Give him a break he's 30 already. he can't play active football with the same spirit forever. But with his economical style of playing and ability to control the pace of the game, he has a chance of lasting much longer than many others.
