by Ronny vaz on Dec 03, 2010 07:11 PM

World cup hosting is the only way Qatar will automatically qualify to the world cup as host nation, otherwise for another 100yrs they will not qualify playing 2 qualifying rounds.

Wonder...

I wonder if there would be any oil left in the Middle East by 2022... Without that the Middle East is doomed... In fact the world itself will be doomed.... so even if 2012 doesnt become a reality.... not much will change....

Australia's loss in the bid...
by Santosh on Dec 03, 2010 06:20 AM  | Hide replies

It's disgusting that Australia lost the bid... The Continent was never ever given a chance to host the FIFA... Qatar is tiny even when compared to city like Adelaide in Australia... Australia is way ahead of Qatar in all aspects... I don't understand the reason behind prefering Qatar over Australia... The FIFA officials bank balance might have been loaded with lots of money... Shame on FIFA...!!!

Qatar had mentioned in their presentation that 22 new stadiums would be build and after the cup they would be dismantled and all the material would be sent to third world countries for development on infrastructure..

Such a noble thought won them the chance to host the showpiece of a tournament.
Even if Qatar were not chosen it would have been USA.

Qatar?

The whole population of Qatar is 30% of Jaipur City and half of those 30% are Qatari citizens.

Given the number of tourists that will come in 2022 the country will be overrun by foreigners.

voting trends
by biswanath roy on Dec 02, 2010 09:46 PM  | Hide replies

from the voting trends for the decision of hosting the football WC 2018 & 2022, it is clear that, usa & england have become the most hated countries in the world. in the voting for hosting the 2016 olympics, chicago was eliminated in the first round,& ultimately rio (brazil) won it.similarly in the voting for the hosts for 2018 & 2022 football world cup england & usa respectively, were the first countries to be eliminated. this shows that the countries(developing)are going to tolerate no longer the bossism of usa.the writing is on the wall,it is for usa to read it. this is a lesson for india & our dear PM, india should open up to the developing countries & stop being foot lickers of usa & uk.
