"CommonWealthGames" itself is a shame because it reminds everybody on the colonial rule of British guys. I really cannot understand on what kind of proud India has in hosting this CWG. Really Shame, in my view. Instead of wasting so much millions of dollars in this CWG, that money could have spreaded over many things to help the poor people who even can't have a meal for a day.

Very few people realize this.. What is "British Commonwealth", a legacy that is there to remind that you once were british slaves.. a club of countries who once were ruled by british.. and our govt wants us to take pride in it.. oh what a shame..

British coming to India was the best thing that happened to us. We wouldn't have been one country even without them.

British didn't come India for chairty. They destoryed education system, culture, and produced baabus who takes pride by being rulled by British.
Fact is, there was not a single begger on the street when Britisher came to Indian begging business rights with India.

One good thing in british rule is INDIA united & good Adm system. Bad thing is creation of Pakistan & slavery of 150 years for that we are responsiable.

The entire western world is suffering from Pakistan's creation- not just India.
As far as slavery is concerned, we were poor people back then and -take my words- poors are natural slaves.

I agree with you, tarsem. I feel British rule brought a lot of good to India. They brought us the English language, which is the universal language and gives us an edge over Chinese and other counterparts. They brought the railway system, built our cities, kept Muslim invasion at bay, brought reform in society, helped establish democracy among many other things. But the most important being uniting us as one country. Before that we were just a bunch of princely states. I disagree about creation of Pakistan being a curse. It was as if, we were rid of a cancer which would have eaten us up. Look at the present state of Pakistan. Most are brainwashed, religious fanatics. There wouldnt have been peace in united India. Granted there were racists and evil people among the British but they did us more good than harm, I feel.
