CWG : pure wast of common man's money
by jagdish chand on Aug 11, 2010 06:51 PM  | Hide replies

Why should tax payer pay the money for these games, what will the common man get from these games? Will the govt distribute the money which they get from sponsors pay to the people.

BOYCOTT THE CWG 2010
by mohan br on Aug 11, 2010 05:30 PM

INDIANS SHOULD BOYCOTT THE CWG GAMES. EVEN CURRENT ATHLETES / SPORTSPEOPLE SHOULD ALSO BOYCOTT THE GAMES.
THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO START CLEANING OUR COUNTRY FROM CORRUPTION AND CHEAP POLITICS

Unpaid fine could keep Indian lifters out of C'wealth Games
by Anand YNI on Aug 11, 2010 03:17 PM  | Hide replies

If these hefty weightlifters consume drugs & are punished for it, why should the taxpayer foot the bill? Will they donate the money if they win any prize?

Indian Sportsmen and coaches, whatever is the sport, are not aware of the basics of acceptable diet. Aften we hear that a player with an excellent record goes abroad for a game/event and falls sick with food poisoning etc because they do not understand their own metabolism. We definitely need professional doctors trained on OC guidelines on acceptable medicine and food to develop our atheletes in a compliant manner. And more importantly the players also need to adhere to certain routine. Self discipline if lacking in most of our sportsman. So it is the entire system that needs change. Who will bell the cat?

Hi Anand,
I do understand ur feelings.. but i feel we are pointing figures to wrong group. Every athlete in world take some or other type of energy drink or medicines. Its the trainer/instructor who tells what needs to be taken and what not. I feel, its our Indian instructors who don’t even know as wht energy drinks are banned and wht not. And they don’t warn he athletes about the same.
This is where the athletes end up caught ‘unaware’
Indian govt is already throwing hard earn taxpayers money in CWG like water. .Every day in news u will see the thing that would have costed Rs.1 they are paying Rs. 100. Latest is the I-card fraud.
Our govt will throw money in every junk things ( because they get a cut of every money) , but will never pay for the fines. Bcaz, on paying tht they don’t get their cut out of it. They will humiliate the athletes( who bring gold for the country ) but will never stand next to them.
See to the stand of chief of OC, every day thr is a fraud cases popping up, thr’s a visible delay in every project, but still he proudly says “He is not responsible” for it.

Dude,
There is a difference between "banned substances" and energy drinks.
It is just that the Indian coaches don't know a sh1t about how to hide uasge of steroids.
