india's pride
by biswanath roy on Aug 02, 2010 08:47 AM

From the time China successfully hosted the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, acknowledged by most as the best organised Olympics ever, India decided to showcase the Delhi Commonwealth Games as what India can achieve & do. That is why one hears our PM,Kalmadi,Gill etc repeatedly saying that Delhi games will surpass Beijing 2008 in every respect, & will be the best international sports event organised.Jealousy(over China)will not achieve anything, it is the actual quality of work done& materials used which counts, & as per CVC & media reports India has failed in this respect.

say ALL izzz WELL
by kuldeep jain on Aug 02, 2010 05:55 AM

i say :

lets unite and say " ALL IZZ WELL"

CWG problems will not be over but we will get tolerance to face the problem..

I fail to understand that what we were doing for last 7 years..

now i read statements from various responsible people..

1. even in china Olympic work was getting done 2 hours before the starts.

2. all work is quality work. this rain is giving us test check opportunity.

3.this game will be at par with all other international events.

the infrastructure is not well prepared and we have yet to work on pollution, traffic control, law and order , foreign visitor stay

time left is less then 80 days..

but 80 days were enough to make a trip of world .. may be we can do the miracle..

personnaly i am not hopeful.

by MB Sivaramakrishnan on Aug 01, 2010 09:47 PM

Now the Central Govt. says, workers who are employed in Central Govt projects will be redirected to CWG. Now we will put those projects in the backburner. We are just 2 months away and this is the state of stadia. Let's pray god that no accident or mishap should happen

The whole thing is a sham
by free market on Aug 01, 2010 08:18 PM

Indians should stop feeling proud of idiotic things like hosting games and oppose them like the Americans opposed Chicago as the venue of Olympics. The games are just cover for looting the country by giving contracts to their cronies like in IPL. Americans opposed Obama on Chicago for this very reason. Foolish Indians got carried away by pride and allowed politicians to loot them.

this will be a national shame and embarassment.. many atheletes may return when they see the level of mismanagement..
even if work is completed.. there is a good chance it is done hurriedly and substandard..
a roof or wall collapse or other mishap is very likely during the games..
this event will bring permanent shame if nothing else and scar India's reputation forever and indians around the world will be ridiculed for this
